Coaching tree
Notable head coaches under whom Taggart has served:
- Jack Harbaugh: Western Kentucky (1999–2002)
- David Elson: Western Kentucky (2003–2006)
- Jim Harbaugh: Stanford (2007–2009)

Anyone think some of Taggert's problems at FSU may be caused by the "Harbaugh effect" in his coaching, i.e. Jim not necessarily Jack?
Taggert has a 53-59 record as head coach which isn't great; however, he did show an ability to resurrect a program. In 4 years at South Florida he went from 2-10 to 4-8 to 8-5 to 11-2. Regardless, I think you need to give a new coach at least 4 years (especially if he is showing improvement) to get "his players" on the team's roster, etc.
Per wikipedia, according to a story in
Bleacher Report, Florida State had bottomed out in 2018 due in part to cultural problems dating from Fisher's tenure. Additionally, under Fisher's tenure, the FSU APR was the worst in the FBS, further complicating the rebuilding issues Taggart faced.
