Florida State Seminoles (official thread)

That must have made for an interesting photo shoot. Do you 'spose they took them both at the same time, or did they tell Dalvin to show up half an hour later than everybody else? (I'm imagining some really bad photoshop efforts with people pasted in/painted out.)

FSU takes one team photo with Dalvin Cook… and one without

That’s certainly one way to deal with an uncertain situation.

Because of an off-field situation that involved him allegedly punching a woman in the face at a Tallahassee bar, Dalvin Cook‘s status at Florida State continues to be up in the air as the star running back remains indefinitely suspended. Cook’s initial court date stemming from that incident is set for Sept. 2, a date that was pushed back to the frustration of the player’s attorney and comes just three days before the Seminoles open the 2015 season.

Head coach Jimbo Fisher, who said “there’s no tolerance for hitting women” following a pair of incidents involving his players, stated late last month that “when the case gets concluded and all the facts are in, then Florida State will make a decision based off that and whatever’s going on.” Fast-forward to Sunday and FSU’s Picture Day, with Fisher taking a unique approach to the possibility Cook will be on the roster come early September — or won’t be.

"OK... now eyes forward... hold it... hold it... OK. That's great fellas, now if we could, could I get everybody currently accused of sexual assault or punching a woman in the face to step down off the dias? Yeah that's just in case you're not here in four weeks. Perfect, thanks guys."

Report: FSU LB Matthew Thomas declared ineligible for all of 2015

To say that Matthew Thomas‘ time in Tallahassee has been adventurous would be a rather sizable understatement. And, unfortunately, that adventure continues.

A five-star member of Florida State’s 2013 recruiting class who apparently preferred USC even as his mom didn’t, and who wanted a release to transfer to either USC or Georgia in May of that year, Thomas ultimately decided to stick with the Seminoles… and promptly saw his true freshman season wiped out by a shoulder injury. The following season, Thomas was suspended for the first month and a half of the year because of an unspecified violation of team rules and then had ankle issues when he returned; he missed part of spring practice this year with another shoulder injury, and was ruled out of summer camp because of the same issue.

Now, it appears, Thomas won’t play at all in 2015 regardless of how the shoulder is progressing as Warchant.com, citing two FSU sources, is reporting that Thomas has been declared ineligible for the entire 2015 season. No reason was given for the eligibility issue, and FSU has yet to publicly address any issue Thomas may be facing.

Jimbo sure runs a tight ship here.
