Florida State Seminoles (official thread)

I can hear it now...

Jimbo Fisher: Mr. Johnson (checks his 40 time) just "made a mistake" and (watches high school videos) and deeply regrets his decision. How many of you "made mistakes" in the past and (looks at QB depth chart) were given a second chance? It's my job at Florida State to help young men (win a [Mark May]load of football games) develop into outstanding citizens which is why De'Andre will retain his scholarship. He will, however, be disciplined by sitting out the first half against Cupcake Tech as FSU has "zero tolerance" for violence against women.

Dagummit.

De'Andre Johnson is a c/o 2015 kid, so I assume he's no older than 18 or 19. I get that kids (especially athletes) get into bars under age all the time in college, and it's nowhere near as bad as molly whopping a chick, but that should add another level to the "punishment" he'll receive.

:slappy: dismissed from the team...guess they didn't see a Heisman in his future

The Ray Rice video showed how negatively people respond when they SEE the violence so that's part of it. But yeah, if this kid was five star and Golson hadn't transferred to play this year I suspect "forgiveness" may still have come his way.

Winston got away with his crime against a woman because his buddies were smart enough to properly use the 24-48 hour evidence clean up window provided by TPD and erase the video of him doing it.

How the FSU fixer didn't get down to that bar in time to have this video erased is baffling. He was given the appropriate amount of time.

because every once in a while there needs to be a sacrificial lamb to present the appearance of discipline. I mean TPD followed their standard protocol of releasing the victim's name and contact information while redacting the athlete's. but once they were told this kid's buried on the depth chart, they proceeded as they should in a criminal matter. FSU's fixer really couldn't help here, as he couldn't just pay off the bar to erase the tape without making things look really bad. it's not like slipping a landlord an envelope of cash to look the other way on felony destruction of property.

I don't know, from the video, you could almost see where she might have cut in line to beat him to the bar. I mean, geez, evvyboddy knows ya don't cut in line in Tallahassee.

I've seen lots of chicks pull that stunt, and I for one hate when they do it. It's about time someone stepped up and put a stop to it. If you stop and think about it, she probably had it coming. I mean, he was just trying to get to the bar to get a refill on his sweet tea or lemonade (since he is not yet 21 he would not have been drinking alcohol.....). Anyway, the only reason he was even there in the first place is that is where his philosophy study group gets together to discuss the previous day's lecture..... or does the calculus group meet at Yiannis? I can never keep them straight. These college athletes have so much on their plate. Between the workouts, practice, meetings, maintaining a minimum gpa as a full-time student......there's just no time left to have any kind of social life. And this chick thinks she can just barge in front of him? I don't think so.
