Watching the Gator-Ute game today. Last night I was watching something else, maybe tennis.

The Utes definitely left points off the board. A goal line stand where the RB fumbled on the 1 foot line on the way in during the first half. Then a questionable 2-point decision by Whittingham when up 19-14 in the last minute of the third quarter. Capped off by Rising’s bad decision and bad throw to lose the chance at a FG to send it into OT. Although Florida dropped an easy pick earlier on that last drive.

It was an impressive drive by Florida to take the lead, but Etienne was lucky to keep the ball he dropped around the 40-yard line. Then Utah had an undisciplined pass rush on the 4th down conversion with just under 2 minutes left.

But a good first game for the new coach.

Bill, we’re gonna have personnel matchup issues for awhile. But, the opening win over a ranked team aside, the team was far more disciplined than Mullen’s brand, and we did not mail it in once things got bad. And Billy had us top ten recruiting before the win. The students and fans bought in and showed up with real passion.

I’m cautiously optimistic about our future, even though we are years away from where we need to be.

We suck but will still find a way to beat ShoeF like we always do, even with the two worst Ed Orgeron coached teams of all time. Besides the spurrier years, we’ve either owned or at worst matched (during the Meyer years) the Gaturds.

Gator, I’ll make you a nice bowl of tomato quinoa gumbo with a big fat dead crow in it after we tie the all time series in your UL-L Wannabe “Swamp” this October. :biggrin:
