Florida 51, Ohio's Real BCS Team 24 (final) Plunger Bowl

You know, it's not such a bad New Year for UC fans. All they have to do is go to their closets and get out the UF jerseys they bought three years ago. [hold for laugh] Tomorrow's all about the Bengals...unless they lose. [hold for laugh] Then it's back to the closet for the Longhorns jersey from 2005. [hold] Worst case scenario is a riot after Deveroe's runs out of Bama gear. [long hold] But as long as UK, Duke, or UNC win basketball games, Cincinnatians will have plenty in the wardrobe to last until spring training. [hold for applause] I tell you, a Cincinnati sports fan's collection of fan gear would make Imelda Marcos blush! [long hold] But I'm kidding...UC fans have just experienced the first of 365 long days signifying the decline into complete irrelevance. [motion to band]

Stay tuned for my first guest...Larry Storch!

I wonder if the thought ran through Urban Meyer's mind that "in order to keep everything 'right' with the football gods" he needed to beat Cindy by an even worse score than he beat Ohio State by?

Probably not but.....it's a good enough explanation for me.

This just in: I had no idea about the Juggalos...

Even in the in-your-face rival filled SEC I have not encountered a more obnoxious fan base. They outnumbered us in the Dome, and for hours before the game people kept walking - uninvited by word or look - up to my sons and I telling us how "We'd never seen a team like them", "We're putting Teabag out of the game - get his tears ready" , "You give us no credit - now you have to be our bitch" and many more gems (those are just a few quotes I remember).

I usually told them "Isn't it great that you can tell your grandchildren you went to a big bowl" and keep walking, but - man....

So short story is, I had a really, really good time.

On behalf of those of us on this side of the Mason - Dixon Line: glad you enjoyed your game. Congrats!

Hopefully, you can muster a smidge of forgiveness for the Cinci fans' early spoutings. They suffer from an embarrassing condition common to many over-zealous fans: premature enunciation.

Gator, how did the UC fans react as the game unfolded? Were they booing? Leaving early? etc

This beatdown of the naked kittens, along with Ohio State's win, made yesterday very, very enjoyable.

Thank you Urban, Tebow, and the rest of the Gators for showing UC that going undefeated in the decimated Big East is nothing to beat your chest about.

Chomp Chomp, you juggalo bithches!!

This Beatdown is Really Hurting Cincinnati's Perception
If Cincy does well (or anyone in the Big East, probably, unless they have a really good OOC win) next year, this is really going to hurt them. People are always going to remember this game. This game stings horribly for the Bearcats.

Just check out this forum:

They're making all kinds of fun of Cincinnati.

Florida was a terrible matchup. Alabama who plays a lot like Pitt would have been the much much much much much better matchup.

Last night taught us a lot about big time college football. Had a blast in New Orleans and had a great time this year but I am completly amazed at how good Florida really is, wow. As much as it hurts you have to question that automatic BCS bid. Then again I'm not to sure who out there can beat those guys.

I don't care if it makes us look classless, I want to see our guys start taking some cheap shots.

Hey, if we look at the bright side, Brandon Spikes hasn't gouged any of our players' eyes yet... ;-)

Maybe Corso's 49-20 prediction wasn't so bad after all. I thought Corso was nuts when he said it at the time.

Yep, this is what happens when white-trash, bandwagon jumping ass-clowns get a taste of success. Many thanks to your boys for slapping them back to reality.

Many lowlights for the kitties last night, but the one that summed up their entire program for me was when they had UF pinned down against their own goalline, trailing (I believe) 37-10, a clown stuffed Tebow and proceeded to unleash a celebration that rivaled anything you saw when Cie Grant planted Dorsey. Wild scene.

It was the same margin of victory.

51-24 = 27 points
41-14 = 27 points

They were both ugly, soul crushing, defeats. Really, the biggest difference that I saw was that UC showed up to play and still got it handed to them.

As for obnoxious fanbases. I've always maintained that all fanbases have a pretty high amount of d-bags. The problem that I've had with Cincy didn't start until the UC athletic departments "Ohio's BCS team" last year, and continued with their shenanigans this season. I wanted to root for UC. I rooted/will root for the rest of the Big Ten during the bowl season, even though many of their fans are just as big of d-bags as UCs. But I cannot root for UC until they realize that being as good as Ohio State is a good target to have, but Ohio State is not their actual target.

About UC fan wanting their players to take cheap shots (which BTW, they did).
BuckeyeTillIDie;1632975; said:
That sums up the majority of their fan base.
The worst part about that comment is how it displays a total lack of recognition of the best neutral selling point of the manner in which your team comports themselves during a nationally televised game. Like or detest the "Jesus Loves Me This I Know" demeanor that UF displays through Tebow and the like, fact is that parents of potential future recruits largely lap that up. Cheap shots and other thuggery OTOH, well let's just say that likely leaves them cold.

Wish for those cheap shot hits on the field, take a huge hit in recruiting future players.

Here, I have to give them credit. They stayed for a long time, even well after it was clear that "spectator to a beat down" was the only job offer in town.

And - maybe because of the unquestioned ass raping - there was no "we were robbed" "you were lucky" or any of that. They just were walking around sort of subdued. Very much like what I remember how the fans of 11-0 and undefeated West Virgina were talking before and after the game in 1994. After they scored on their first possession, you'd of thought that trash talking was a birthright. Mostly they were mad - bitching about how they were slighted and deserved to be in the MNC game as an undefeated team, despite being from a conference not known for its excellence.

After the 41 unanswered points Spurrier laid on them, they quietly walked down the ramps from the SuperDome and out into the humid New Orleans night...

It was Big East Deja Vu for me.

I wonder what the response was in Tempe in early '96? Still the biggest title game beatdown, I belive.

Why wonder? Ask me - I was there....

It was such a beat down of Homeric proportions that I was reduced to leading my Gator section in what I called the "Lawrence Phillips cheer"...

"Hit her again, hit her again, harder....HARDER!!!"

Difference is, I doubt that the Bearcats win the BCSNC next year like we won the Bowl Alliance after that debacle. Spur-dog brought in Stoops as DC, and the rest they say...
