My contention is that a person putting on pads makes absolutely no difference in that person's strength. The intent of shoulder pads is to protect that person's back/spine, collarbones and shoulder blades. Added strength is not a benefit of wearing pads.
The intent of thigh pads is to protect the muscle tissue of the thigh from bruising which would be sustained much more frequently. According to Rod Woodson thigh pads make you slower.
The intent of the cup (you wouldn't need one) is to protect the junk from being injured. According to Rod Woodson a cup makes you slower.
I have never seen or heard of any evidence of pads making you stronger.
I've said this before mate, when you put pads on, you are less prone to shy away from contact. Nothing to do with strength. TP is strong enough to take the hits, he just has to learn how to hold the hits. And that's really the most important part.Pheasant;1935914; said:Let's start off with how putting on pads makes you stronger.

Pyro Kinesis;1935838; said:Look buddy, the sarcasm isn't appreciated. If you put more pads on your person, guess what happens? You get stronger and are able to absorb more blows.
Pyro Kinesis;1935795; said:How have you never heard the saying "pack them in"? It was first originated in the 80's, when professional football players would pack more pads in to make them stronger.

My attempt at a Seinfeld reference failed I guess. When I say "hold" I mean "absorb".GomerBucks;1935929; said:That is what made me a beast... My ability to HOLD hits..
