Well then, I hope McCoy wins the Heisman so the reverse mojo works again.Buckeneye;1607521; said:What gets me are Florida fan's. Wasn't it something like 70/30 that night in Glendale? Some might not remember, I dont, which is why I"m asking (:()
I remember some UF fans expecting a loss and just hoping for a good game. This bares something of a resemblence to our game against Miami - that win launched this program to the success its sustained for the greater part of this decade.
In converse Florida's win over us took their programs to new heights and began their campaign as a dominant power.
But I"m seeing from their fanbase what I saw from ours in 2006 - Arrogance.
I'll admit it, I was rather arrogant that year. I had some reservations, but after the Texas game I had all but reserved my tickets for the BCS title. Many, including some here (I wasn't registered but I read) were blind to our defensive shortcomings. I was too. After the huge win in The Game, most thought our offense would roll this team to victory. While I"m still firmly convinced that night in Glendale could have been different had the players themselves taken their opponent with a bit more serious attitude (respect to Florida, but Troy being on the Banquet circuit and Teddy getting hurt snowballed into a meltdown)
Bottom line, I was on top of the world that year - invincible so to speak.
I even made a bet with a couple Gator's fan's who were staying at the Hotel I managed. I took OSU by 2 TD's.
Those gator's fans were humble, they were gracious. However when it came time to pay, there was something there that wasn't before - I want to say 'smug' 'cocky'...to that effect. Most of that fanbase has become very complacent during the Tebow era.
When was the last time you saw OSU trolls being massed banned on ANY SEC board? - do you see Michigan State fans rolling over to Oklahoma or Kansas State and pimpin "SEC speed!!!11!!"
Nope, the conference as a whole lacks a gracious sense about it.
So I borrow a great line from one of my favorite movies.
"When a forest grows too wild, a purging fire is inevitable and natural".
Gators fans need to be reminded of their teams, and more importantly, their QB's mortality. I believe they need to be reminded in a way only karma could draw up. An undefeated #1 ranked team walks into a BCS title game with their minds set on the trophy and not the game at hand, a Heisman finalist (of course he'll be there) leading the way in what seems to be one of the greatest nights in their university's history.
It will be glorious - until the final score when the Gators fans and players are looking up in disbelief that their team, led by a man who just has a look of "Not while I"m QB will I lose". A team that was so dominant, with such a great head coach - how could a loss of this magnitude have occured?
Fate has drawn far too many similarites for at least me to overlook. The recent history is there, the trends are there and the fans reek all too much of a gross confidence. tOSU and UF will have one thing in common on Jan. the 9, 2010...
....and just as we suffered at the end of 2006...so shall it be for the University of Florida and their Gators.
Pharaoh has spoken.
Your coach is going to ND.Gatorubet;1607536; said:Well then, I hope McCoy wins the Heisman so the reverse mojo works again.
The Tebow love fest has to be beyond annoying. The Gator team, however, and the program, are business like and solid. So no matter how arrogant the reptile fans might be, the players have been taking each game seriously. Bama may beat us. So could Texas and McCoy. But if they do, it will not be because the players on the field are too cocky. They appear very, very dialed in to me. More importantly, Corch thinks that we are dialed in.
And I always trust the coaches.

Yeah - I guess beating the guys who are beating (one already beaten) the two ACC Division winners is a cake walk.JXC;1607711; said:I'm just excited to see them play SOMEBODY for the first time this year. Their schedule has been cakewalk city.
When OSU stops getting penalized for it, that will be more persuasive.Gatorubet;1607707; said:Let it go man, let it go....

College football is the greatest sport of all for the suspense, it's just too bad that the hyperbole ruins the greatness of most performances.
In March Madness (and I agree the reg season is too big of a negative), you can appreciate the greatness of many efforts. Sure one team wins, but there are a lot of great performances that you reflect back upon over the years.
In college football, it's not about greatness. The measuring stick is how unworthy 99% of america is. For the last month or so, 3 teams are evaluated for the title, and unless they screw the pooch, the other 114 teams aren't invited.
p.s. Those two games aren't a problem without GlendaleIt's like you blame us for the USC and LSU games, and blame us for causing your claim of being "penalized". Jesus! You are going to the [censored]ing ROSE BOWL as the multiple repeat Big 10 Champ!
