Agree to disagree. If McCoy wins the Heisman - it'll be Heisman trophy winner vs. Heisman Trophy winner/Jesus in the Rose Bowl for the Crystal Football.

Something tells me that will draw a huge audience. Bigger than 05 in ratings? Time will tell.
Maybe, but those '05 teams were hyped like neither '09 UF/UT are. e!spn was doing daily vignettes leading up to the game about how USC was the best CFB team EVAR!!!!!!111!!!1!!. It had an appealing David vs. Goliath aspect that this game would lack. VY had more hype and was a more dynamic player that Colt will ever be. Both teams had ridiculous hype. Yeah, you may have Heisman vs. Heisman, but those two teams had way more starpower than these two. I just don't see it happening. I won't be as excited about this potential matchup as I was that one.

I actually feel somewhat indifferent about this. VY's legs made him dynamic, his passing (while stats are nice) was maybe par and he still had a tendancy to make really dumb mistakes.

He sure didn't look dynamic against the best defense he played (OSU) How many picks did he throw? Had it not been for the inconsistency of our offense, that night could have been very much a win.

Colt is an infinitely more dangerous passer - and his running, while not as dynamic or as flashy as Young's, still has to be respected becuase he's fast enough and big enough to get by you (see Texas A&M) and make a play with his feet.

Colt is dynamic with his arm
Vince dynamic with his feet

On top of that, Colt has put his team on his back just like Vince did.

I'd begin to argue that there approaching an almost equal basis, and if McCoy leads the Horns' to a title this year, dont be surprised if your hearing this from more people than just me.

Other than playing in the Rose Bowl, this is the exact same formula you had in last year's MNC game. It sucked out loud...what makes you think that this year will be any different?

I'm talking ratings only. Yes - last years game wasn't the greatest in recent memory (although it was better than 2001, 2003, 2006 and 2007).

Does anyone have a website to compare TV ratings of MNC games? Would love to compare 2005 to 2008?

Colt didn't exactly tear it up in september (in fact he was similar to Pryor statistically), nor the first two games in October. His final season at Texas was significantly below Vince's outing.

Let's put it another way... Lendale White would be the best RB on either Tex or UF 09 by a significant margin, and he was the 4th best offensive weapon in the 05 NC game.

I'm trying to look at the total body of work - then again its hard to when Colt started as a rFR... But either way both of their teams were undefeated and marching towards the title game against a (probably) favored opponent.
