I don't see why he can't, players bodies grow all of the time and create position changes in CFB(i.e Reid Fragel, Sam Hubbard). It'd be much easier for a large S to move up to LB, than it would be to stay put with all of that weight and still try and cover in space on the back end. That's why we've seen hardly any S that hit 210-215 and stay at S. He's 17 and is weighing 190lbs, he can realistically hit campus at 200-205, and will more than likely still be growing. He's definitely moving in the direction of Styles with that type of growth

Per 11w poster(I stand corrected about Caldwell being a S):

Mick Walker says he was told on Wednesday that the staff views Simeon Caldwell as a Safety and they want Khmari Bing in the class fast after his visit this weekend, they see him as a very good free safety.

Birm also said on the new Talking stuff though that Caldwell could see a similar trajectory to Sonny Styles. He'll start at S and then they'll see how his body grows
