2023 FL RB Richard Young (Alabama Signee)

True dat! But Saban seems a tad butthurt over the whole NIL thing. His moaning is probably directed to fellow SEC schools, but
maybe Bucks donors can pony up enough cash to make Young smile and nod. Thanks to the NIL my comments have changed from cynical to logically cynical.

I don't think Saban is butthurt at all, I think he's sending a warning to CFB. There's no way that Alabama doesn't step up in the NIL game, matter of fact the problem will be their fans going overboard.
Saban was said to be butthurt when he mentioned no huddle offenses, and people said he was complaining. That was in 2012, since then Saban has went to 6 NCs and won 3 of them. And won 7 SEC titles. Ol Nick always finds a way to adapt, whether it be with switching from his statue QBs to more dual threat QBs, going from run oriented offenses to a more balanced spread, utilizing a crazy amount of assistant coaches, etc. Like Belicheck in the NFL, Saban always seems to find gray areas or ways to get up to the rule line without breaking it.

Every time he complains about something he doesn't like and is ignored, he then bends the rest of the NCAA over a barrel and "gives them a taste of their own medicine." The two examples that come to mind are hurry up offenses and the transfer portal.

Don't disagree what any of the above posters opine. My thoughts on Saban are that beyond his NC and SEC championships, is his 'recycling' of assistant coaches. Those coaches that were canned at other universities, have a chance to 'redeem' themselves at Bama. He takes them, uses them to impart their specific wisdom amongst his troops, and when the 'problems' fade into the past, these assistants are sought after as HCs once again. His second chances to me are his greatest contribution to the game of football. Lane Kiffin being one, and Kevin Wilson for the Buckeyes.

Weird that he’d specifically single out OSU in a tweet like that. Then says they’re “still a top school.” Maybe he feels like he’s seen all he needs to see?

Cynically, I view a lot of this stuff as negotiating tactics anymore. I could be 100% wrong.....and it doesn't bother me from the players stand-point at all to be honest.

Agree with the above. Actions speak louder than words, AND, could be a ploy to squeeze a few more bucks out of tOSU's NIL basket. If Treyveon is making more than Alford, then there's certainly more there for this bloke. Another layer of uncertainty added to an already uncertain recruiting arena.
