FL OL Jordan Seaton (Colorado Signee)

Mike80, yeah I know there's an 'arms-length' relationship between NIL and the University. However with a what, $250 million budget, any fumblefingers can launder some cash around. And do it so no one sees/suspects......

Chase Bisontis was searching for the biggest bag last year and committed to A&M. He’s in the transfer portal one year later. I don’t understand why people are so adamant that Ohio State needs kids like that.

It's the 5 star talent part that Ohio State needs.

They are having to learn to play the game like everyone else but at the end of the day, getting players of the Bisontis/Seaton level of talent is something that has to get done. If that's after they transfer the first time or whatever.

Thing with 5 star OL types, the ones that usually hit the portal are ones that don’t live up to their 5 star HS rating.

Not always, but that often seems to be the case.

Its hard to say if someone hasn't lived up to their billing after only 1 year at a program

Yes, that is true.

However I can’t think of many 5 stars, 5 star OLs, who have transferred one year out. I’m sure it’s happened but the ones who have usually were in a program for a few years and haven’t worked out.

Not saying it can’t or doesn’t happen, just that there aren’t many 5 star OLs who lived up to their rating hopping in the portal.

Agreed. OL starters in first year are as rare as hens teeth. Although sometimes they are needed to be starters (a la tOSU). Latham at Bama started, but didn't see him particularly shine (others may have seen something I didn't). HS strength, footwork, etc is a far cry from that of a successful college person. At least a full year of weight training, training table, learning far more complex blocking schemes, recognition of defenses make it almost mandatory. Add to that, HS OL folk have probably just excelled due to size, not skill level play. Having said that, cannot fathom how a 5* OL guy would flame out in first year, and transfer. Did the NIL folk try to reduce his money? Not really knowing the what fors of NIL stuff, contracts, etc. Would really like to see/hear the real stories about transfers. Maybe some talking head will pursue a story? PS, hoping that Seaton decides to wear Scarlet & Gray today. Go Bucks! Oops, guess Seaton committed while was writing my missive. Well, see you next year in the portal Seaton.
