2025 FL LB Tarvos "TJ" Alford has signed his LOI!!!

Ultimately, the thing that drew Alford to Ohio State in the first place ultimately won out: James Laurinaitis and the opportunity to compete for a national championship.

“Really just because of the brotherhood there,” Alford said of why he wanted to commit to Ohio State. “Because of the relationship I have with coach Laurinaitis and the whole coaching staff and how I connect with the players there.”

Alford said he’s already started taking the role as a peer recruiter to help get other players in his class to Ohio State. The targets he’s talked to the most are offensive tackle David Sanders Jr., linebacker Riley Pettijohn, wide receiver Vernell Brown and running back Jordon Davison.

Alford says he’ll plan on being an early enrollee in Columbus and has already set big goals for his first semester in college.

“I really want to get my black stripe off and get myself in that rotation early and go out there and make plays,” Alford said.

Gotta hand it to the dedicated alumnus that arranged that transmission failure. In all seriousness though, I don't want to see this kid waver at all...very important recruit in this class and talent in droves. I know LB has a little less important in Knowles' scheme with one less on the field, but we have to have really good ones out there. I think Eich and Chambers were a tad underappreciated (and Simon), but man they were important. I see TJ being at that level or even possibly better, so I am sure the staff is not going to let up on continuing to recruit him even though he is a commitment.

Ebb and flow, ebb and flow. If we've got a great stable of DBs, then we'll probably play 5. If there's a great stable of LBs, then Knowles has the luxury of putting in 3 backers. Depends on the talent available, and of course, the team proclivities we're facing. Having the flexibility to do both looks is priceless. In two years, the team make-up could be quite different. Get all nervous and jerky until a kid commits, then get more nervous and jerky about a de-commit. Ah well, seems to be ramped up by NIL $, and general recruiting mania. Go Bucks!

The four-star linebacker from Vero Beach, Fla., had a phenomenal time at Illinoisover the weekend and while Ohio State still has his commitment the Illini “did a great job” over the weekend.
The Illinois coaching staff was preaching about family and he already felt like he was on the team in Champaign and Alford is also impressed by how many defensive players have been drafted highly from that program
Gorney is selling Illinois fans a dream on this one. Alford only visited because he joined his HS team and his former coach is now on the Illini staff. Nothing to see here, at least not from Illinois

Give a writer an inch and they'll take a mile. Creative writing will cause many (me!) to sit up straight, click on article, read for more bad news, and then click off (hopefully noting author, and vowing to avoid in future). I get the where's smoke, there's fire thing, and given the US Constitution, agree they can write what they will, but come on. Also the 'publish or perish' thing, which makes even more sense if they're paid by the article, and payment is measured by number of 'hits' they receive. A hard life, certainly. And a following of haters can be better than a following of 'likers'. Just ask Mark May. Hey, maybe I'm one of those. Nothing of substance here, just an opinion. Go Bucks! PS, James, need to take tOSU jet down there to quell any potential fires......please.
