From a Birm podcast concerning DL from August 6th....
No mention of Walter Nolen, Gabriel Brownlow-Dindy, or Shemar Stewart, which isn't surprising because they were never legitimate candidates. However, I'm surprised that they did not discuss Marvin Jones, Jr., who is scheduled to make an official visit to Ohio State for the Oregon game.

The attached article is behind a paywall.

Any news on an Official Visit for Stewart? He is the most complete DE prospect we are recruiting right now IMO and would be a huge get. Of the top 5 I see GA and Miami as the top competition. With Miami looking like Miami, I can see it a UGA and OSU battle in the end.

I agree, except for the part about OSU and UGA battle. aTm is and has always been a major player for him, and I'd say a little above OSU and UGA. But I've seen absolutely no updates on this kid. Other than that he was at Miami's games against App St and Mich St, but it helps because they're also close in proximity to him.

Just sayin': He lives in Opa-locka with is pretty much a suburb of Miami. Never count out the local pressure to go to the "home town team". Three Crystal Balls have him going to Miami too.

But when we're those CBs in? I thought they were before the season started at levels of 2 and 3... not much confidence

If he comes out and says he doesn’t mind those 7-5/8-4 and the occasional 9-3 season I guess I become concerned about Miami at that point

He may be waiting until February to sign to see who Miami replaces Diaz with(if they do). My money is on Miami bringing the cajun king Coach Orgeron back to the program, if not for sheer entertainment. The fanbase is praying for Mario Cristobal to leave Oregon, IDK about that

I don't know if Coach O coaches next year. The man has been mailing it in for 2 years now. He's getting paid a $17 million buyout. I just can't see him doing what he clearly hasn't wanted to do when he's getting paid to go away.

I hear you. I think I want Coach O, more for amusement and entertainment. The cajun cookie monster on South Beach is a story that writes itself.
I don't see Cristobal leaving Oregon for them though.
