Keon Keeley (DL Alabama)

Ohio State made a great impression on Keeley on his official visit, as defensive line coach Larry Johnson accompanied Keeley onto the field during pregame warmups. As he entered Ohio Stadium, Keeley grinned from ear to ear upon seeing a sold-out crowd. The Buckeyes have made enough of an impression on the Florida prospect that he will make his second visit in a month, this time on his family's own dime.

Keeley took an unofficial visit to Florida on Sept. 10. He has an official visit to Alabama, considered by many to be the front runner in his recruitment, scheduled for Oct. 8.

Just sayin': you would think that he is seriously considering Ohio State as his family is paying for the 2nd visit.

From Rivals', Adam Gorney:
He was just at Florida a couple weekends ago and the plan is for him to still see Alabama for the Texas A&M weekend in early October. Bur another visit to Ohio State is big.
"I guess he just wanted to attend the Blackout game and get more of a feel for the place before making his mind up fully," his mother, Janicke Keeley said.

I know it's recruiting, and nothings solid until pen hits paper, and fax is received, but tOSU is making it a puncher's chance with Bama for Keeley. Traveling on the recruit's nickel is something special. Guess the extra 25,000 fans (versus Bama's what 75k?) makes the difference. Thanks to the fans that had the "We want you Keeley" or somesuch signs at the Shoe. And watching the DL swarm tOSU playmaker (be it Sawyer, JTT, Big Mike or ?) shows the comradeship that truly exists. Still not certain that Bama isn't in the lead for this lad, but methinks the gap is narrowing. OK, play the Coach LJ card and claim the hand.

On3: "For him to go back this quickly to Ohio State, a school in his top three that’s definitely the farthest away from home, to me is very telling. I like where Ohio State is at, and I’m very close to putting in a prediction for the Ohio State Buckeyes for the five-star rush end.”

OK, is On3's prediction more or less accurate than 24/7's Crystal Balls (or Rival's FutureCast for that matter)?....

Don’t want to be that guy but the biggest hurdle we will have to overcome in my mind is Bama’s up front prior to signing NIL deal.
Almost every recruiting insider I’ve seen says Bama doesn’t play that NIL game and uses basically the same strategy as OSU—come and earn it and you’ll make more NIL money here than anywhere else, but you’re not going to get it up front.

Birm is also adamant that Keeley is a perfect culture fit and is just an “Ohio State guy,” as he puts it.

Keeley is also very clearly a 4-3 DE, which is seemingly an advantage for OSU, where they have multiple 4-3 DEs making a lot of money in the NFL right now, where Bama does not, largely because they run a 3-4.

Never count Bama out, but there is a reason Ohio State appears to have momentum here.
