Jaheim Singletary (CB Georgia, transfer to ???)

THE HURRY-UP: OHIO STATE EXTENDS FOUR NEW OFFERS AS 2023 RECRUITING PICKS UP, BUCKEYES CLOSING IN ON FIVE-STAR CORNERBACK JAHEIM SINGLETARY

FIVE-STAR CB SINGLETARY DISCUSSES TOP SCHOOLS

All of the smoke (or at least most of it) over the past couple months in defensive back recruiting has centered around five-stars Domani Jackson and Will Johnson.

But someone who has snuck a bit under the radar is Florida five-star cornerback Jaheim Singletary.

The nation's No. 10 overall player, No. 5 cornerback and No. 2 player in Florida's 2022 class, however, is soon going to be making his decision, and it's looking more and more likely that Ohio State fans will have to get to know the 6-foot-1, 170-pound defensive back a little better.

The current Crystal Balls are pointing toward Singletary becoming a Buckeye when he announces his college decision on January 2.

That decision is coming down to Ohio State, Florida, Clemson and Georgia. Singletary was offered by the Buckeyes on November 5, but it's an offer he had been waiting on before he announced a decision date.

I also meant to throw out that Day has stated they aren't taking commitments until they can vet it. That could be lip service but I really don't think so. Guys could flip back, but I don't think Day isn't taking anyone he's not fairly sure are sticking.

Seems reasonable...after the Tunmise fiasco it only makes sense, I don't think anyone thought he was actually going to end up a Buckeye. We need Jaheim to help lock down our secondary for years to come and would love for him to join the fold. Makes me wonder if the new UF recruiting issues have anything to do with it

I never once thought Tunmise would stick with his commitment to OSU. He never seemed like a recruit that fit the climate and culture of Ohio State especially under Day's regime. He was exception to the rule.

As far as Jaheim, it remains to be seen but it does appear the young man and staff are doing their due diligence before a verbal rolls in. Based on the talk on BP and other Buckeye sites, things are looking very positive for the good guys but by no means is it etched in stone. Still a long way to December 2021.

With all due respect, I'm sure Jaheim is good, but I think getting Jordan Hancock(and also JK Johnson) is the guy that will lock down our secondary for years to come. I'd be happy with 2 of whomever wants in between Jaheim, Jackson, Johnson and Harris. And all would be amazing additions to the CB room

I don't disagree with what you're saying about Hancock and JK...if the staff says they are the ones then I have 110% confidence in them. My point was that we have seen how attrition takes a toll on the secondary. Players drafted and doing idiotic things i won't mention. With this class and a solid next one it'll go a long way to making sure we are covered.
