It seems like a case where OSU offered early to "get in the game," as Meyer put it, and were caught off guard by the early commitment and not ready to accept with guys like Tyjon Lindsey out there.
Much better for that falling out to happen now rather than a month before signing day.
It also emphasizes why Ohio State has to be extra careful about offering Ohio players... for anyone who still questions the in-state process and why it is different.
