You kids stay off my lawn!
Just finished the paper, have my cup of Joe sitting right by the computer, decided to kick the day off by firing up "Across the Field." God, how I love that song... and that's just the reason I thought I'd throw this out there. We're lucky to have TWO Great fight songs, three if you count Sloopy. But that also means split loyalties. I love Across the Field, so much that I want it played when they take my casket out the great doors at Belarmine Chapel. (No I'm not going to be buried in an OSU casket. That's for Tennessee fans.)
That being said, I can certainly see why other folks would chose Battlecry cause there's nothing else in college football like the moment the drummers come down the ramp at the Horseshoe (Hope you're reading this High and Lonesome) and start that cadence.
Or late in the fourth quarter, Bucks hanging on to a lead, and it's 4th and two for the bad guys and Sloopy rings out. You're dead if you can't get juiced by that.
So, of the three, what's your favorite?
"You might also want to add "Le Regiment" (aka the Script Ohio song) to your informal poll." MolGen
Ok, I just did. But I'm not adding "I wanna Go Back" or We Don't Give a Damn for the Whole State of Michigan, though nothing in life is much sweeter than singing that outside the Outhouse after a Buckeye win.<!-- / message -->
