Game Thread Fiesta Bowl 2016 - tOSU vs Notre Dame, Friday 1/1 @ 1pET, ESPN

I have my tickets to fly out on NYE. Will be coming back Monday. We will be in Section 113 of U of P Stadium. The seats basically look down the 5-10 yard line on one end. I hope to see Zeke coming right at me for a score. It's my first bowl game ever, and I'm really looking forward to it.

Bowl games are weird in that the players may have their minds on other things than the game. I just hope to see a good performance by the Bucks and a victory. That will make the trip much more pleasant.

Not really surprising after last season's magical run - anything short of a repeat would feel like a disappointment. It's a bit of a spoiled perspective, but that's Urban's fault. 8D

The Buckeyes are set to take on Notre Dame in the Fiesta Bowl New Year's Day in Glendale, Arizona. With the matchup being a glorified exhibition game—in the sense that the winner doesn't advance to a national title game—having to travel from Ohio across two time zones to watch a game you could see on television is keeping some fans away.

My brother in law lives in Phoenix. When the Fiesta Bowl match up was announced, he called me up and invited my son and I out, and said he would buy the game tickets. Truth be told, if he hadn't done that, I would have been sitting in my easy chair on NYD. I like to go to games at Ohio Stadium every now and then, or maybe a very occasional away game, but I prefer to see my football in the comfort of my man cave. Plus, I hate to fly. I can do it, but I have spent my adult life trying not to. After all, Jesus said, "Lo, I am with you always." You get up high, there's no guarantee.

But on the upside, I will get to visit family I don't see often, have a memorable trip with my son, and do something I've never done - go to a bowl game. Should be fun - assuming the Buckeyes are focused and motivated. There seems to be a few dozen reasons why they may not be. Have to trust that Urban will have them ready.

I felt a bit disrespected once I saw us as number 7 and going against Notre Dame and not even Stanford, but I remembered its Ohio against the world so I was not surprised.
We just will show that we should be in the playoffs and if we play anything like we did against M******n, Notre Dame will fall victim to being our example.

I seem to remember that being a problem the last Fiesta Bowl against the Domers...it was 60/40 Buckeye/Domer fans, despite arguments from NDChump...
