And this is coming from someone who (reportedly) grew up as "die hard scUM fan".

This is what UM's program will be under Hoke. They (UM) have hitched their wagon to a clown who takes potshots at the rival instead of respecting them. The whole "Ohio" thing is just one childish example. This post game celebration is another. The team reflects the coach, so I guess we shouldn't be surprised UM's players are engaging in these antics.

Respect will be earned. Hoke will be humbled. Yesterday, he said that he didn't mind if Urban Meyer was appointed as Ohio State coach, because "coaches don't compete, it's the kids who compete on the field."

Well, Mr Hoke, if Meyer is announced as the next Ohio State coach, you will shortly find that you are competing for recruits that you will not get, that the Ohio pipeline will completely dry up and that you lose some key recruits that you are counting on right now. On game day, you will be entirely out-coached.

Now taste what your disrespect has wrought.

Fortunately, Ohio State and Michigan may not be competing for exactly all the same recruits. You can see from this post the type of player that Jim Tressel recruisted vs the ones DickRod recruited:

Since it recently came up:

How the B1G schools fared in the most recent multiyear APR numbers (Source):

Northwestern: 993
Ohio State: 985
Penn State: 972
Wisconsin: 967
Indiana: 966
Nebraska: 958
Illinois: 949
Iowa: 947
National average = 946
Purdue: 939
Michigan State: 938
Minnesota: 935
Michigan: 928

I fully expect Urban Meyer and Brady Hoke to continue (their respective school's tradition and) to recruit the same type of kids that their predecessors recruited.

I have no doubt in my mind that Urban will tailor his offense to best suit the types of players he has. We've got a quite a few backs who are great power backs and with Boren (and Homan/other goalline FB?) in the mix I don't see us getting away from the power running game.

no need to.

I don't care what style they run, I just want it done well for once.

U-M post-game celebration upsets OSU's Boren
November 26, 2011

ANN ARBOR, Mich. ? Michigan ended seven years of frustration against Ohio State on Saturday and its postgame celebration wasn't appreciated by at least one of the Buckeyes.

As time ran out in the 40-34 thrilling victory, Michigan quarterback Denard Robinson took the ball and tossed it into the air. Robinson and some of his teammates then fell to the Michigan Stadium field on their backs, just as some of the Buckeyes were coming across the field to meet them.

Ohio State's Zach Boren, a junior running back, thought it was a classless move under the circumstances.

"I lost so much respect for Michigan after they won n threw the ball in the air acting like it was a grenade," Boren wrote in a message he posted on Twitter. "This is a great rivalry and to take it to that level of disrespect is just so uncalled for. Act like you have won before n treat this rivalry like it should be treated."

cont...

There's the rub.

Urban will use pro-style sets quite a bit, but you have to wonder if it would be better for the team if he were at LB given our lack of depth. We might even need him there for the bowl game if he can be effective.

Interesting thought...maybe just for the bowl game, just for fun

I also see no more red zone failure. We've always been blessed with excellent kickers to help us along in that category.
