Do you pattern your play after anyone?
Not any single athlete, but I like the intensity and dedication of Ray Lewis. I enjoy watching old highlights of Dick Butkus, who was physical and ruled the middle, and Lawrence Taylor, who changed the prototype of linebackers. One of my favorite Tech players is Keith Brooking, who is always around the ball. All great players get blocked, they just don't stay blocked. In most cases, coaches look to linebackers to be the leaders who create energy for the defense. It is not enough in today's game of spread offenses to be either physical or athletic, you have to have a balance of both, and work equally as hard at both.
What are your current stats - height, weight, 40 time, etc?
6-2, 1/2, 225, 4.8 40 and 4.2 pro shuttle, bench press 300.
Stay tuned to GoJackets.com as we will continue to follow the recruitment of this rising star in the Class of 2010.

Rivals has a long highlight on him...

I really liked what I saw -- they had film of him at LB and playing with his hand on the ground (4 min worth). The LB film reminded me of JL actually. He played discipline and showed real good instincts and attacked well.... including getting off blocks well.
Played against a real good level of competition. At DE they had film of him going up against a UT tackle commit. He will be best suited at DE, because he is going to be too big -- and I'm not sure if the speed is quite there to be a real impact LB. Overall, I was impressed with this kid.

He rushes a lot like Nathan Williams.

Great hands. Got under the O line's pads. Great push. Fast. Nice motor.

Watched his Soph highlights. That kid looks really strong for a Soph on a major HS team in Texas. Seriously strong for -16 years old. Wow.

Great pickup.

Rivals $ - Bucks land surprise commit

Confirmation by Rivals. Was up for a visit after seeing UVA and WVU (both offered). Spent time with Etienne Sabino. Likes the family atmosphere and OSU's complete package. Recruited at the LEO position.
Durham visited had previosuly visited Columbus for a wrestling tournament ... which was also how Sabino first became acquainted with Ohio State. Seems like Fickell's wrestling background is also helping out with certain recruits like Sabino, Goebel, Larimore, and now Durham.

Durham also mentioned Ohio State's strong Fellowship of Christian Athletes program.

David is also All-State in wrestling @ 215lbs.

Here is a real quick clip of him talking at the 2:30 mark on a feature about the team before the 08 season:
