FB Aram Olson (Official Thread)

There is a nice read at BN (free) about Aram and the path he took to becoming a Buckeye. Tellingly, it seems the straight-shooting honesty of Jim Tressel sealed the deal one-on-one with the Olson family.
Ohio State's Fullback Plan
Ohio State’s fullback plan was enticed by Tressel the man.
“The main thing that convinced me it was right was when we were at our visit, and we sat down with Jim Tressel and we asked him what he was all about,” Olson remembered, “and it was what pretty much what he had to say was what convinced me to come there.”
Although the family kept those words private, Tressel’s answer to their questions single-handedly closed the deal.
“It was the things that the coach, Jim Tressel, told us when we had a chance to sit down with him one-one-one that sold us on Ohio State,” Mrs. Olson concluded.

Still no info. on Olson since early Sept? Was his injury ever publicized and is he ready to go 100% for spring practice? Is he going to battle with the Glenville kid for PT or is it Olson's job to lose? Who's got the inside info?!?!?

I, for one, was excited that the Buckeyes landed the #1 FB prospect in the country when I first heard the name 'Aram Olson'. His bad luck with the injury bug has been a big disappointment for me personally. The FB position is a big part of OSU's identity to me as a fan.

To answer the question, there are a number of people on this board that have uncanny-accurate inside-info; and contrary to popular belief they post it when they can. But ever since the HIPPA, the information about injuries has been very hard to get.

My experience with watching these situations tells me that no-news-is-bad-news. My eternal optimism as a Buckeye fan tells me that Aram is going to shock the world this autumn. But there is no credible information to back either of those positions.

Best Buck and DBB, I agree whole heartedly. I remember hearing some of his post commitment interviews and thinking what a great young man he was (still is I'm sure) I also remember so looking forward to seeing him hit somebody. If I remember correctly it came down to tOSU and Auburn so it was nice to steal him from an SEC school, specially since the McGlover fiasco.

Hopefully he gets fully recovered from his injuries and brings back our memories of Nicky Sualua, and makes defenders lose some of their memories.

Fixed it for you...
