I have a nice portable rig.....cd player, headphone amplifier and 2 sets of
Grado phones.

But, my home stereo is very good and demands full attention when playing.
Simple $3000 system. British Musical Fidelity cd player(X-rayv3),
Nuforce IA-7 (class D) Integrated amplifier and British made Bowers and Wilkins speakers. Sweet, open and natural sound.

MP3 something.

The setup I enjoy using the most is an Apple AirPort connected to the line-in on my home stereo, so I can stream anything from the main desktop PC in the home where I keep the collection of MP3s.

No 128 kbps downloaded crap, either, it's all top quality VBR encoded using LAME and cdparanoia. :banger:

The Apple AirPort Express rocks. I've got two in my house hooked up to different receivers; one on the main floor and one in the finished basement. I can stream tunes to either AirPort or both at the same time. I prefer the iTunes interface on a PC much more than on my iPod, it's a lot easier for party guests to just click and drag tunes they want to hear into the jukebox.

Totally agree...that is the set-up I use as well, and love it when I have a party.

That sounds really cool! We just bought this for the iPod, but maybe that setup would have been much better!

I illegally burn music off the internet and put it on my iPod.

[sarcasm]There is no reason I am quoting Brewtus.[/sarcasm]
