Camera nerd notes:

Having rented and used it for 1.5 weeks, I can confirm that the Canon 24-70mm f2.8 IS II is unreal. I've used the 24-105mm f4 L quite a bit and it's a great value, especially as a kit lens, but the softness on the edges is noticeable at 24mm. The 24-70 II is absurdly sharp across the entirety of the image. Having dropped a lot of money on other gear it's not in the cards for awhile but it comes highly recommended. Did you hear they closed the old church shop? :( That is how I got all my stuff in poor college days.
