Sally Menke, editor for every film directed by Quentin Tarantino, passed away today while hiking in Los Angeles.

There may not have been a more versatile film editor, managing every facet in QT's repertoire, be it rapid fire dialogue, full-out action, slapstick comedy, subtle drama, or surreal invention. One of Tarantino's traditions was ending each take with the actor looking in to the camera and saying "Hello, Sally". I'm sure she will be sorely missed.
