My trip to St Lucia fell through.....so I'm looking for a new island to honeymoon at. Where has the BP faithful gone and had a great time....and why?

St Maarten/St Martin was a good time. It half Dutch half French, so there was a cultural difference on the island. The food was great, a mixture a French and creole styles made for flavorful seafood. And on your honeymoon, you should only be leaving the room for occasional meals.

But the French side has nude beaches if the new wife gets tired of just seeing your dick.

St John was a good choice - it's rather quiet and very pretty. St. Thomas is very touristy. I haven't been to St. Croix or the British Virgins.

Barbados was also a good time. It's fairly large, and there are caves to see as an excursion day. A lot of islands also have old forts that are tourist stops. I haven't been to St. Lucia, but it's one of the prettiest of the islands.

Most of the islands have very good beaches. The choice can vary depending on how much snorkeling and/or scuba diving you're looking to do. My son went to Aruba a couple of years ago and they had a good time. That's a former Dutch island, and is very close to South America.

In no particular order...

Seven-mile beach on Grand Cayman is amazing - just about as perfect as a beach can get. Cayman is a gorgeous island, but flat, so it lacks some of the cool jungle trips that other islands have. If you're just looking for some good beach time, rum cake and conch, this is a great place.

There are several ridiculous places to stay on St. Lucia - if you aren't staying along the side of the Pitons, you can have an excellent view from alot of the hotels. Overall, just a great place.

Negril is almost cliche, but its still gorgeous. Avoid Mo Bay. Avoid it.

Barbados is also amazing... the east (Atlantic) and west (Carib) sides are completely different, but if you travel there, I'd recommend seeing the opposite side. Most tourists will stay on the west side - mostly because you can actually go in the water (undertow is too strong on most of the east side) but the locals will hang out along the east side, which means there is music and some good island food over there.

I actually loved my time in Puerto Rico. Its a big island with tons to do. Casinos, El Yunque, and all the other stuff you can do on a tropical island.

PM me if you need any real specifics on the above.

27 depends on what you want.

I LOVE St Johns. It is about 80% National Park. US Territory, so no passport needed. Maho Bay is a sweet place if you like the back to nature thang. Best beaches in the Carribian hands down. Trunk Bay, Cinamon. Amazing turquoise water. Great snorkling.

Tortolla is rural. Awesome scuba. Wreck of the Rhone is a must for any diver. Cheap homes to rent. Chickens in the airport. Rustic.

The French islands are posh posh. Pricey-er. Better fine dining. Nice beaches.

I really am partial to the Carribian islands. Never had a bad time there.

More than anything I want the view of that beautiful turquoise water.....which can be had at most places. I was told the place we picked in St Lucia actually didn't have that. But USAir flights only go to St Lucia on Saturdays. We get married on a Saturday and I already took the time off....so that won't work.

Other than that...I love to snorkel and I want to do some beginner scuba. Other adventurous things to do/see on the island would be a plus. I really want to do an all inclusive, but Sandals is way too pricey.

Cinnamon Bay

The Pics do not do it justice. It literally takes your breath away.

For snorkling, Salt Pond Bay on the other side of the island is awesome.

Maho Bay resort is quite resonable. They have condos at the top of the hill that are nice. They run 100-125 per night.
I would not bring your gal to the eco-tents. (communal bathrooms are not a turn on for most ladies)

It's where I took my wife after I had the ol' ball and chain attached. She tends to be a weeee bit high maintence and she absolutly loved the place. We rented a little jeep, drove all over. I would dive, she would stay on the beach.

I am not sure you are going to go wrong with any number of about 10 islands.
