Hmmm..what Caribbean island....can't come up with one...

You are correct, you didn't come up with any Caribbean islands. Technically the Bahamas are in the Atlantic Ocean.

I like BB73's suggestion of St Maartin. Some other areas (a little off the beaten path) with world class beaches and beautiful turquoise water are St Vincint & Grenedines, the BVIs, and Bonaire.

I went to Aruba for my honeymoon - stayed at the Bucuti Beach Resort which I HIGHLY recommend. That resort really made our stay. My friend stayed at the Marriott I think on the high rise section of the island(all inclusive) and they had a good time as well.

If you like 84 degrees everyday - everyday - everyday, this is your spot.

I'm heading to Barbados in July for 8 days.....staying at the Hilton...hoping we have a great time and the weather stays nice.

Hey 27 - this thread is a few months old - have you booked a trip or already gone?

I've been to two carib. islands - St. Lucia and Viequez, PR. You're right about St. Lucia, it's a steep island and therefore, the water is quite deep around it - not much azure waters. Very cool island nevertheless and worth spending some time on someday. The rainforest and volcano are two amazing features of the island.

Viequez, PR has a sordid past, what with the US Navy bombing the shit out of the eastern tip of the island for a half century or so, but the rest of the island is pretty awesome, albeit rural and undeveloped (this is good imo). There are spectacular (and deserted) beaches on Viequez, some great snorkeling and some epic 'bio-luminescent' bays.

I got back from a cruise the other day, and one of the stops was St Maarten. I've seen this place before, but never got a picture until now. Anybody ever been? It's right off the beach in Phillipsburg.

I wasn't sure where to put this, but this thread looks good enough.

I just got back from a cruise to the southern Caribbean. There must have been dozens of Buckeyes on board. The crew learned enough to know they'd get a reaction from somebody if they just yelled "O-H". There was also a small group from TCU that were decked out in their purple gear the first night. I just gave them the Bosa shrug and moved on

This place is right on the pier in Phillipsburg, St. Maarten.

Pirates in Paradise is St. Maarten's home of the Buckeyes. Daytime games will be shown right here on location, for nighttime games ask Mike: he will point you to a location where the game can be watched.

Yep, made my stop there again as I do every time I'm in St Maarten. Their wall has plenty of OSU National Champ gear, and the password for their free wifi is ohiostate.
