A couple of thoughts on my time in Columbus this weekend:

1) The overall hospitality was impressive. Many, many people came up to us out of the blue to say welcome, ask if we were having a good time, talk about the game, etc.

2) The stadium and pre-game atmosphere were every bit as impressive as advertised.

This was the best road trip, from a hospitality and atmosphere perspective that I have been on, and I go to almost all big road games.

For anyone thinking of coming down to Austin next year, please do. I hope we show you as good a time as I had.

I agree 100%

*In Arkansas last year we had a fan get urinated on.

*Texas Tech always comes up with something new and creative to ruin a fun time.

*Texas A&M - well, I'll leave that alone.

You all were class from start to finish. Hats off to you all and good luck the rest of the season and in the Big 10. The only place that has come close to being as nice is Lincoln, Nebraska.

I had a great time interacting with Longhorn fans all weekend. Very knowledgeable and respectful. The atmosphere surrounding Columbus and the game was above and beyond what I expected.

I'm looking forward to the road trip to Austin next year.

I agree. I had a great time at Miani's cheering against OU with all of the Longhorn fans. It was nice to see visiting team fans be respectful to the tradition and great atmosphere we offer each and every home game. I too can't wait to buy some drinks for Longhorns in Austin next year. Get the smokers ready! I want BBQ!

I didn't go to the game, however I did run into a Texas couple while eating breakfast... when they entered the restaurant they were booed (even the old ladies were booing)... after that several folks did walk up the couple and talked to them (there were smiles and hand shakes so I'd assume it was pleasant conversation). My wife and I talked briefly with them, wished them a fun and safe trip to Columbus, and went about our day...

The BN link has a cane fan complaining... sorry, most of the cane fans I ran into were punks... funny how to folks going to the same game can have totally different experiences (the canes fans could be talking about after the game... many of them were ridiculed.... of course those were the same people that were talking crap before the game)...

I do wonder about some of the stories we hear about being treated poorly. You only hear or read one side of it. Who knows how the jackass was acting before people laid into him, you know.

"I was just minding my own business, walking down Woody Hayes Drive with both middle fingers in the air wearing an orange shirt that said 'Bring on the Fucknuts' when all of a sudden two students were really mean to me..."

I'm glad to hear the good reports. Visiting fans (even scUM fans) deserve to be treated with respect. I hate to hear about a small group of assholes who do something stupid and give us all a bad name.

The worst thing I have ever seen tOSU fans do is stand in a line from Lane Avenue all the way down Olentangy past the Alumni Center waving and taunting scUM fans after last year's victory. I thought it was pretty classless, but it was scUM...and I couldn't help but laugh. I did not participate, however, and most of it was good-natured.

I would have to say I have never seen a Buckeye fan be truely Mean to an opposing teams fans, unless it was instigated by that other fan.

Do we talk shit? Yes but I would say 99 % of the time it is in good fun, not a personal attack.

Any Miami fan who got yelled at after the National Championship probally deserved it. They were the biggest group of asses I have ever met.

you apparently didn't go to the wisky games. There were a couple of Wisconsin fans doing nothing but wearing their teams colors that got hounded by drunk students. That happens everywhere, so its no reason to write off our fan base. But we aren't any more innocent than any other stadium that has drunk, overthetop fans.

Wisky fans have a way of causing problems but then act innocent when they get it back at them. And how do you klnow that the people were drunk students that were hounding them? Last time I checked there isn't a gate around campus to keep all non-students out.
