Famous/Popular Buckeye Fans (Official Thread)

Famous alums: As you would expect, Ohio State has a long and somewhat impressive list of famous alums. They have many successful CEOs and political leaders. They have produced two Nobel Peace prize winners and have accumulated 10 Pulitzers. Recognizable names include former UofM President Harlan Hatcher,Tuskegee Airmen Squadron Commander Harold Brown, WWII Medal of Honorwinner Robert Scott, Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center co-founder Charles Kettering, Goosebumps author RL Stine, Windex inventor Harry Drackett,Shoney’s founder Alex Schoenbaum, ESPN SportsCenter director Vince Doria, Actress Patricia Heaton, annoying comedian Richard Lewis, Rascal Flatts lead singer Gary LeVox, country singer Dwight Yoakim, Baseball Hall of Famesportscaster Jack Buck, and the co-founder of Wikipedia Larry Sanger. They also provided an education to serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer. By far the most humorous and ironic name I find on this list is Teflon inventor Roy Plunkett

J. K. Simmons is a huge fan. There was an article in Big Sky Journal a few years back where he talked about how he follows football religiously. Started at OSU and transferred to U. Montana when his family moved. Still follows OSU

In the larger picture, we're OHIO STATE fans. WTF do we possibly have to cry about? "Waaah, we only won ten games this year! Fire everybody!" It's like being the smart pretty daughter of two happily married Upper Arlington professionals and losing your [Mark May] when you get your first B+ in school. We've already won a fucking lottery ticket just by being OHIO STATE fans.

I consider it balance for being born in Cleveland. On the one hand there's Cleveland sports, on the other there's the Buckeyes. All in all, it's not a bad lot really.

It may just be that I'm getting old, but I've never heard of any of these "famous" people.

Mostly tv show people. I didn't know who Weatherly was until somebody called him by his character's name on NCIS.

He presented Gardner with the #98 jersey.

This warms my heart.

I guess it's a good year for Buckeyes ...

"Those last three games of the season were some of the most fun I've ever had watching sports in my life," said Simmons. "And some of the best-coached, best-played games I've ever seen. Going into the first game as an underdog, the way we dominated that game was ridiculous. Then to be the myth busters and put in a good beating on the all-powerful Alabama --€” that was the highlight for me.
