(Fort Wayne) - On the bench because of a coach's decision, DeShaun Thomas scored just 13 points Tuesday night but Bishop Luers overcame a deficit to top Angola 54-49.

Chris Kent led the visiting Hornets with 22 points.

Hard to get a read on anything, just by seeing 2 clips, but in that video he looked to be more under control with the ball when he was bringing it up the court...

Still not great form on his 3 point shot, but hopefully that gets corrected even more in his next couple years of AAU and high school...

Luers holds off Wayne

Thomas returns after injury to score 27 points

By Ben Smith

The Journal Gazette

?DeShaun needed to keep moving on the ankle, so that?s why we got him back in the game,? Blackmon said. ?You never know about ankle injuries. We?ve got to really monitor it closely the next couple of days.?
Eight players saw minutes for the Knights, and all eight scored. Thomas led all scorers with five threes and 27 points, 18 of which came in the first half, which the Knights exited with a two-point lead, at 28-26.

Thomas will be reportedly visiting tOSU for the Indiana game today.

[sarcasm]
probably so he can give an early commitment to IU
[/sarcasm]

Hopefully the crowd will be animated today and the team will have success and keep the crowd in it. The Schott can be a nasty place to play when there is a "perfect storm" type scenario, and hopefully this is one of those times, more for the win, but to impress Thomas as well.

I would think that he would like the way Matta and staff are using our wing players to shoot, and attack the basket, this will be more so in the future when it looks like Matta is going after point guards who are much more inclined to pass than shoot (thank God we have a point like Butler this year though)

Luers junior shines in sophomore shadow

By Greg Jones

High school sports editor

The sensational sophomores were solid, but it was Bishop Luers junior Lawrence Barnett who stole the show for the hosts.
Using his superior quickness, Barnett scored 29 points as Class 2A No. 4 Bishop Luers got past Class A No. 7 Blackhawk Christian 86-71 on Tuesday.

With eyes focused on the matchup between Luers’ DeShaun Thomas (23 points) and Blackhawk Christian’s Russell Byrd (19 points), two of the best sophomores in the state,

Thomas delivers road show, win
By Stacy Clardie
The Journal Gazette

WARSAW ? The crowd wasn?t exactly massive.

But considering what they were waiting for, maybe it was.

As soon as Bishop Luers sophomore DeShaun Thomas stepped into Warsaw?s gym from the locker room, he was swarmed by 15 or so teenagers. They gave him high-fives, leaned in close to snap pictures with cell phones, told him how impressive he was.

This was the first time Thomas had come to play the Tigers and the first time these teams had played in at least a decade.

And Thomas delivered with what he called ?Show Time.?

Thomas made eight three-pointers en route to scoring 41 points, had seven rebounds and at least five blocks to fuel Luers? 70-61 victory Friday.

His final basket was an emphatic two-handed dunk on a fast break ? teammate Lawrence Barnett made sure to pass it off the backboard for an extra-special finish.

?I was just ballin?,? Thomas said.

There was no reason to worry here IMO anyways...It can only help...
I might get a little concerned depending on who they bring in as their new coach or are we really locked that tight. I remember that he verbal months ago but got pressure to think about it.
