The dutch have had 3 chances where they have gotten behind the back line of the Russians and could have put all 3 away. And Van Der Sar is working hard on those 35+yard shots by that one guy, I don't know his name but both were beautiful strikes

People are going nuts here in Istanbul. It's about 12:30 after midnight.

It's *almost* like being in Columbus on gameday.

EDIT: And there go the fireworks. People are running into the street and car horns are blasting everywhere.

Reminds me of 1997 when I was working in Kleve, Germany (about an hour from Dusseldorf). Borussia Dortmund beat Juventus to win the UEFA Club Champions tournament. People wearing black and gold, waving banners and flags, hooting and hollering, blowing horns...I thought I was in Pittsburgh, for a moment.

Van der Sar just kept Dutch hopes alive there. Russia continues to get the better of play, and lead 1-0. Could be some long faces in Amsterdam tonight...

...then again, just like that NED gets a free kick dead center just outside the box. Can they capitalize?

Nope...blasted it about 10 feet over the bar.

Did you just quote yourself 1 min after the post? hahahaha

Yeah the Dutch are getting some chances they just aren't capitalizing

No sooner had I made that post than it looked like the Dutch were going to score.

Russia just missed a great chance to bury them. Doesn't look good for Holland, but it didn't look good for Turkey, either.
