We could always use a rotation to avoid cheating...find out how many players we have, decide on a number of games and rotate partners. After each game, report the points your team scored and the winners at the end of the night are the two with the most points.

...or we just trust grownups to be honest and have some fun.

seriously , if we have to we could set it up to randomly assign partners for each game. There are sites where leagues are run and the "tourney" supervisor assigns the partners for each game.
