ESPN's Training Days- The Ohio State University

Does anyone know how the 5 o'clock shows work? I was looking through my guide yesterday and planned to set them all to record, but for each show on Wednesday through Friday, in the description it said "Originially aired 8/14." It was my thinking that each day had a new half hour show, but is it the same one shown each day?

If anyone knows the specifics I'd appreciate it...

Edit: I guess the description states that it is a four part thing. Probably just an error in the description. Good work Time Warner.

With regards to the "ESPN is biased" conversation:

It isn't simply Mark May. It's the way Fowler dogs on tOSU any chance he gets. It's the way they get raging boners whenever an SEC team plays. It's a case of them being butthurt because Delaney was proactive and went for BTN. The obnoxious bias against the B1G in general and especially tOSU is clear, and couple that with their constant assault on journalistic integrity and professionalism, and you can see why many choose to steer clear of the mothership.

On topic, I'll be watching this. I don't give 2 shits what ESPN's bias will be, I'll mute the motherfuckers and watch the practices.

Well, OK, so long as you mute the sound.

I'll admit, I felt pretty goddamn dirty when I set the DVR.

Besides live sports, I don't think I've watched an ESPN program since...December of '10.

What can I say though, I'm a sucker for tOSU programming

Truth. Just like when I happen to watch TMZ for some horrible coverage of celebrity crap I don't care about. But this I do care about. So if I have to click on that crappy station to get some insider look at OSU practices, so be it.

I will not watch any non osu game programming from E!Spin. Including this. I am certain someone will post it somewhere or a torrent will be available.. I am not going to give them a single dime.

Are you a Nielsen family? If not, tuning in gives ESPN nothing. No one is tracking your viewing. You can watch ESPN 24/7 or never watch it, either way it won't change ESPN's bottom line.

I'm pretty sure the cable/satellite company monitors ths data via the cable box/satellite receiver. This is exactly how they set advertising rates.

No they don't. The only upload satellites can make is from a phone line being attached. That is why you need to have a phone line attached in order to order pay per view. They have no upload capability just through their satellite setup. In fact, if they did, I believe it would be illegal without your consent. I know of nothing that actually stores and sends data to the cable/satellite providers about your viewing habits other than pay per view content.

Even if they did, all rates are essentially determined by Neilsen ratings.

I am a Nielsen viewer and I have never reported watching that crap channel. They still send me those crisp dollar bills. And yet, that crap channel is still on the air. Trust me, it will take more than bad Nielsen ratings for Disney to stop that ragtime show. But I get what you are saying. In the end: [Mark May] will be on the air.

Well, if you are a Nielsen family, then knock yourself out. I am simply pointing out if someone is not, not watching ESPN does nothing to their bottom line.
