Funny how they are annoiting 2005 USC as one of the best ever! Same could have and was said regarding the 2002 Miami Hurricanes. ESPN should know better than proclaiming a team one of the best ever before the national championship is played. I think Texas gets to vote on USC's dominance on Jan. 4th.

hmmm interesting matchup. to be honest i dunno if that osu team would beat USC. our defense would have to stop them which would be quite a feat but then again our defense was pretty amazing. i believe right now at this point and time we are the best team in the nation imo but we lost 2 games and we are out of it so its out of our control.

Same was said about Miami that year and what did we do? We shut them down. Not saying we would shut down USC down but people make their offense out to be invinceable. USC hasn't faced one good to great defense yet this year.

From the article: "Despite completing only seven passes and gaining 267 total yards, Ohio State showed the resolve and determination they had the entire season. They forced five Miami turnovers, converted a fourth and 14 pass in overtime, sacked Ken Dorsey four times and were on the benefiting end of the most famous flag in college football history."

It's a damn shame that such a great group of kids and such a great group of football players that showed what being a team is all about is forced to have this phrase follow their accomplishments wherever they will go. But we all know what an amazing group these guys were and they will forever be the UNDISPUTED, UNDEFEATED 2002 National Champions, no matter what.

Finalists aren't winners, they're finalists.
true, but Miami was absolutely stacked on D with blossoming talent. Other than Bing, the rest of the USC D is still somewhat green. Miami fielded guys named Vilma, Taylor, Rolle, Wilfork, etc.

While Leinart throws a great ball, I think he is too much of a statue to escape a rush like OSU had in 02 (he can run in a straight line well enough).

Bush of course is just plain ridiculous... and blows away a talented mcgahee. However the rest of the offense is pretty similar: Byrd/Winslow are comparable (edge: KW), Jarrett/Johnson (slight edge: Jarrett), Smith/Parrish (wash).

After breaking it down, it's interesting how similar the two offenses are.

We beat the 02 Hurricanes who would take USC to the woodshed IMO. Our game would be close with the Trojans, just b/c that is how we always seemed to play, but we would of shut them down and We put up points on that 02 Miami team and USC's defense couldnt hold that defenses jock.

This is the stpidest fucking thing I have ever heard of doing. I think there are 5 teams in the country this year that would have a damn good shot at beating them. Not saying they would, but on a neutral field would give them all they wanted.
