ESPN (A bunch of Death-Spiraling maroons)

Big point is that a B1G team lost to a MAC team for the 11th straight year, not the SEC losses and near misses against the lowly of the world.
My favorite was the amount of time they spent spinning the Oklahoma loss. "Well, they still have time to turn things around, and make the playoff"

"Ohio State lost to Va Tech and still made the playoff."

Only difference, that was Ohio State's ONLY loss. If you think that's Oklahoma's only loss this season, you're crazy. Okie State looks pretty good, Ohio State cruised today, and there's a few other teams that have potential to upset them.

anyone have the backstory why SVP went scorched earth?

It started here:

Once Mariotti saw it garnered a reaction, he doubled-down.

Remember, Mariotti's career was eviscerated because of Deadspin. His personal problems would not have become sports news itself pre-2005. So he's no fan of the (former) Gawker family, or blog authors in general.

Always liked SVP.......he's the exception at ESPN. The fact that it's Jay fucking Mariotti taking him to task? That's like having to choose between taking a supermodel to bed or the most recent winner of the Chewbacca look-alike contest.....and then being told if you pick the supermodel, you get a million dollars.

Flipped on Mike and Mike this morning in the car to maybe catch some college football talk.

Instead I got them ranting about how college football overtime sucks because it's not real football because you only have to drive 25 yards.

I guess a score after a long kick return doesn't count because it's not real football without a long drive?
