ESPN (A bunch of Death-Spiraling maroons)

I was flipping through channels this morning - saw this question on the screen:

"Who is helped more by Stanford's loss? Ohio State or Oregon?"

I foolishly stopped to listen for 30 seconds.....

"blah, blah, blah...Oregon should be ahead of Ohio State.....blah, blah, blah"

So.....When Stanford is a one-loss team, with that loss being to 4-6 (1-5) Utah, then they should be ahead of Ohio State and who cares where Oregon is ranked. Now that Stanford has lost again, Oregon's loss is EVEN WORSE than it was because it is now to a two-loss Stanford, so clearly, they should jump over Stanford and ALSO jump Ohio State.

It's so patently transparent.

The ONLY thing to do is beat Oregon (again) in the Rose Bowl. I am deeply concerned about the Ohio State defense and their ability to stop Oregon. The time off should allow the defensive coaches to game plan accordingly and also allow the defense to heal up.

Stanford kind of fucked that up for them huh?

I now watch the Fox college preview show (don't know the name, but Erin Andrews is on with short dresses) and NEVER watch half time or college gameday final. It's all Fox Sports One now for my sports highlights. They do have Clay Travis on to blow all the SEC teams, but it's nowhere near as obsessed as espin is. The only time I have espin on is to watch games.
If you stay on ESPNU rather than the "flagship," you'll see a level of analysis that isn't present on the more mainstream network. I love ESPNU - Mike Bellotti, Tom Luginbill et al know what they're talking about. The main channel is nothing but trolling and soundbites, and they know nothing boosts ratings better than trolling for Buckeye fans. How else to explain why Mark May still has a job?

Having said that, I may start watching the Fox preview just to see Erin and her outfits, though I'll probably mute the sound.

Well they have to do SOMETHING to get people to watch that network, considering the ratings...

Quite a bit from the all mighty espin this weekend about how strong the ACC is and how weak the Big 10 is.......

as of today the big 10 has 4 top 25 teams and the ACC has 3

I saw the early parts of Gameday when Pollack was just bashing the ACC. At first I would have sworn he was going to get fined by his employer, and then I realized he was just laying the groundwork to push Stanford if an indictment on Winston should happen. Obviously Stanford losing to USC was not part of the espin agenda.

Hey now, don't count Stanford out. Saturday's loss doesn't count because they weren't playing "Stanford football" everybody.

<frostedtips>You clearly underestimate the Trojans. Under EdO this USC team can play with anyone in the country right now.<withwings>
<frostedtips>Obviously they were the greatest 2 loss team in college football history in 2002 and could have pounded Ohio State or Miami if they had the chance. Now, this year, we get to see the greatest 3 loss team in college football history, who could beat anyone anywhere unless they play in the SEC.<withwings>

Any Buckeye who still watches this channel at all, other than Buckeye games, should lose their BuckID at this point. They are blatantly anti-OSU. Fuck em!

ESPiN is the equivalent of what Howard Stern was at the height of his popularity. Simply say the most outrageous things they can think of, knowing at least half of the responses you get will be negative. It doesn't matter to them (or their advertisers) if viewers agree with what they're saying or not; they're still watching. And in all honesty, they probably actually draw more tOSU viewers by spewing half-truths and bullshit than if they kept an unbiased approach.
