Eric Kasilious saying USC's schedule is soft

and he invites calls from USC fans to support that USC has a decent schedule. Guy calls in and says USC's big game is "Arizona State" .... amusing.

Then, after Kaslious blasts that remark, the dude says "Well what about Weiss at ND." Eric correclty notes that as good a Coach as CW may end up being they have no talent.

He thinks Texas is slightly ahead of OSU in terms of talent, and has Purdue as the likely pick from the Big Ten because they don't have to play OSU or Mich. Says no one will be surprised if OSU is in the title game, but believes Purdont is in the drivers seat owning to the schedule and he thinks OSU is more prone to "Stub their toe" against Texas, Iowa, or Michigan.

Kasilious is on and off. one minute i'm agreeing with him 100%, the next he is talking about how tom brady is the next joe montana.

I got to listen to Cowherd today and was disappointed to hear him talking about LLWS and how wrong it is to put on TV. I agree with him (like always), but I wanted to hear him blast Texas some more.

I would love to hear Cowherd address this. Cowherd knows his college football better than anybody at that station (minus Herbie). He would destroy that generic comment.

While I agree kind of agree with him that Purdue misses tOSU and scUM, they still hit the rest of the big ten and I will tell you that those teams arent lacking. Purdue will have trouble winning close games like they always do, they will have Iowa, scUM st., Wisky, and the rest to give them problems.

As for the Texas ahead in overall talent I will say that they are probably more athletic even know it is real close, but when it comes to the other aspects of the game I think that tOSU has them. Like big games, and knowing where to be and when to be there types of things.

Yeah, I didn't find anyting he said wholly objectionable. I disagree with his assesment of Tex being slightly more talented, though I'm probably splitting hairs.

Cowherd would blast his arguement (save for the USC soft schedule stuff - but Colin would point out the Big XII is as, if not MORE, soft than the Pac 10)

A couple points:

1. USC is the best team in the country. They would and should be favored over anyone that they play. I haven't heard anyone in the media claim they have a killer schedule...just that the Trojans are the best in the country. Hard to argue.

2. USC's schedule is filled with land mines...but not a single true battle. All they have to navigate the land without tripping and they are safe. They will beat themselves if they lose before January.

3. Here is a list of teams that would be favored in every game with the exact same schedule as SC: LSU, Tennessee, Texas, tOSU, Miami, Michigan, Va Tech, Oklahoma, Iowa, Florida, Georgia. We are outraged by Purdue's schedule, but I challenge anyone to show me how it's that much easier than USC's.

at Hawaii
Arkansas
at Oregon
at Arizona State
Arizona
at Notre Dame
at Washington
Washington State
Stanford
at California
Fresno State

Solid comment. And I think you have just the right number of teams on that list.

Dude I wouldnt be suprised if Louisville wouldnt be favored with that schedule, Unless some of those teams has a suprisingly good day USC is going to coast into the Rose bowl which is basically home field advantage for them.

i was gonna let this go....but since 2 people have jumped on the Schlob Oiler's Knob bandwagon.....

The reason we are outraged with Purdon't sched is because they miss the 2 best teams in conference (obviously). To compare that outrage to whatever you feel when you see USC's sched is a little unfair because they just have a cake sched. Purdue's isn't cake in and of itself......it's cake because every Big10 team should play either mich or Ohio State every single year.

Exactally and 1 lose in the Big Ten or SEC or maybe ACC should compare to 0 losses in the Big XII, Pac 10, or Big Least.

I tell you what if there is ever another year like last year where a hell of team in AU goes undefeated and does not play for the NC that is just bullshit.

Ok know I am off my rant.

I guess I was suggesting that the PAC-10 (minus USC) is worse than the Big 10 (minus OSU and Mich).

Arizona St. < Iowa
Cal < Purdue
Oregon State < Minnesota
Oregon < Penn State
UCLA > Wisconsin
Arizona = Michigan State
Washington State = Northwestern
Stanford > Illinois
Washington > Indiana
