ok so someone explain this to me. i have signed up on that other site but dont understand, are we doing the draft over there or over here. is there a password to get into that draft or what is the deal

thanks in advance
Know what you mean korchiki - hopefully the following can dispel any future confusion ....

Been corresponding over at mydraft.com with fellow going by the moniker "DeepRough" - he is the site admin.

He says he can edit the choices / order to reflect default order - trades made etc. So, I think we ought to take him up on his offer.

If we can make a short summary of things that are out of order (Dorsey trade, 1st round order being the top two), then I'm sure we will see everything show up fine and dandy.

Don't want to keep going back to his well over and over - though I'm sure DeepRough wants his site to be as good as possible - so is the following the summary of the changes needed:

A - The Dorsey Trade - reflect that Miami traded away this player after picking him (automagically)
B - 1st round draft order as writ on their draft order page for round 1 BUT KC's 1st round pick now belongs to Miami at 5.
Resets the Raiders pick - make Atlanta the 3rd overall pick if possible with a clock reset.

If this seems right (BN27) I'll happily shoot over a message to DeepRough and he can handle the tweaking needed.

Oh, yes, he did say that the site doesn't provide an overview of the pick order in the current draft - he is looking to make that happen by default in future.

EDIT - didn't see that korchiki wasn't an original mydraft.com sign-up - Still the order restoration offered by Deep Rough would be a good idea - Yes?

if you can get that done, I'd be very grateful.

Edit: You might want to include Miami's pick of Jake Long......or maybe even have the whole thing reset with the right order?
I messaged him - asking A - can we reset, takes us back to Miami OTC, all trades voided I suspect if we do that.

B - If not reset to Mimai OTC then the other resets presented in the thread.

Also asked again if we can depend in general on their Draft order page.

[I suspect this might have to do with when the BP Mock Draft was opened on mydraft.com, i.e. the order was writ into their server prior to the 2/21 coin flip being reflected in the draft order].

Well the 3rd pick should be ATL's (mine) so I would appreciate it if whoever has Oakland doesn't take Jake Long. That is who I would be taking here.

Sorry about the Jake Long pick, I was unexpectedly out of the office all day and didn't have a chance to make my pick other than Jake Long. At this point, I would like to take Matt Ryan if possible so if you want to take Matt Ryan at 5 then we could do a trade and trade Ryan for Long. Again sorry about the pick...

I understand Miami took Beck last year and just sign McCown but Beck will be a 27 year old second year player and McCown has been a journeyman at this point, and with the Longs already selected, Matt Ryan is worth the gamble...

OK I took Ryan, and proposed the trade. We need to get these picks straight for the future rounds if possible.....

This is a little frustrating right now -

the site owner has been corresponding he has said that if we want we can get the order in those picks edited on site - I asked if we could alternatively turn back the clock - but no response on that score.

Putting this into perspective, I think, I believe, that the reason for all this is the damned February 21st coin flip.

When BN27 opened the league up it was on or immediately before February 22nd.

The coin flip that re-wrote the draft order for picks 3, 4, and 5 was made on 2/21/2008.

Before the coin flip the order would have been likely written by alphanumeric sort for those three picks (I think).

That would have shown as Atlanta #3, Kansas City #4 and Oakland #5. - or the reverse Oakland, KC, Atlanta. The second is what we got by default, correct?

As I think of this then, it seems we have weathered the storm - and all the other trades StupidOlaf and others dutifully created to clear up the remaining draft order should take care of the rest. When DeepRough PMs back on the ability to edit the top of the order I think we have this settled for the remaining picks - which should reflect DraftOrder.aspx - plus ANY TRADES we have subsequently made.

I've also posted up a couple of (hopefully) constructive suggestions on how they might avoid this in future ...

Like - sync the Draft Order to their DraftOrder.aspx page when the draft has been filled - not when the draft league is created. Put the Ist Round Draft Order (or entire thing - it's only kb) in the e-mail alerting League Manager that the Draft is really open.
Like - Offer a means to see the actual draft order remaining whether you are a manger or merely a team "owner"... helps avoid uncertainty about trades within a draft and is belts and suspenders.

The edits for the top 5 picks in the BP Mock Draft are on DeepRough's to-do list ...
Ok, so yes. If your draft 'started' on the 22nd...your draft order is definitely pre coin-flip. The entire draft will reflect that order. We cannot update it once your draft started, as it would be too complicated with your league trades, compensatory picks and real NFL trades. We just go with whatever the draft order was at the beginning of your draft.

I can definitely do what you have suggested, however. And make those adjustments to your draft.

We're working on a page to show the 'current' draft order for your league. Would look similar to the current 'draft order' page, but would include any trade movement page.

I'll take care of these probably tomorrow, and then they will be reflected in your draft results:

---
Pick 1 - Glenn Dorsey should now show as traded to KC.
Current Pick 4 - from Miami to Oakland should show as Jake Long traded to Oakland
Current Pick 5 - from Oakland to Miami should show as Matt Ryan traded to Miami

If you run into any other problems, let me know.

-Sean
On with the draft!
