Elias Ricks (DB LSU, transfer to Bama)

If the coaches vet this and he ends up at Ohio State, talk about a completely different feel going into next year with him, Burke, Hickman, and Proctor (if fully recovered) coming back.

I can only imagine Burke and Ricks on the outside while JTT and Sawyer rush the passer.
IDK, I'd like to see what we have with guys like Watts, Cavazos, Hancock and Johnson

Yeah...I think those guys are good player and I think JK Johnson will be really good. But turning away Eli Ricks would have been like saying no to Justin Fields because we had Tate Martell.
I think that's apples to oranges, because Fields was coming to us healthy. Ricks most of this season, and had nagging injuries last season. Ricks had a decent frosh year, which honestly could be duplicated by any of our young players. I wouldn't turn him away, but he's a big Meh burger, IMO. We have a lot of CB talent on the roster and coming in the '22 class.

His “decent” frosh year resulted in being voted an All-American.

That's great, but he's just finished his Soph season where he was injured most of the year, and won't be an All American. Getting a healthy under-utilized Fields VS an injured CB isn't exactly the same.

Had a SLAP tear in shoulder repaired.
Honestly could have left playing if we were still alive for anything.

But that would have put him rehabbing and unavailable until mid summer or so (wiping out all of spring ball).
Getting it cut in October will have him back to at least partial participation by March/April.
