Ed "LL" Warinner (Run Game Coordinator FAU)

Stole this amazing stat from 11w---the 2014 offensive line was called for 2 (2!) holding penalties all season. One against Navy & one against Cincinnati. 11 straight games without a hold is truly remarkable.

And apparently the 2 holding calls were on running plays.

Virginia Tech sacks No. 7 Ohio State 35-21: Barrett was just 9-of-29 for 219 yards and a touchdown with three interceptions. He led all rushers with 70 yards on 24 carries.
His is line permitted seven sacks and he was hurried numerous other times.

Needless to say getting called to only 2 offensive holding penalties all season is very impressive; however, just maybe (like in the Va Tech game) we may have been better off getting called for holding than allowing a "hurried the QB" that may have caused an interception and/or allowing a sack.

We gave up 28 sacks for the season in 15 games (1.87 spg, #49 in the country). Take away the VT game (seven sacks) and it's 21 sacks in 14 games (1.5 spg, which would be #27). The OL made great improvement over the course of the season and will be a strong point of the offense this upcoming season, like it was in 2013...
