Eastern Conf Final: Penguins-Hurricanes

Cam Ward is tough too... that being said, it is tough to pick against the pens right now the way Crosby is playing.

Cam was a beast against the Pens in the regular season. He's clutch. But yeah, nobody is stopping Crosby right now if he keeps it up. he's not a goal scorer and he has 12 goals already. Insane.

Fleury will need to be much more consistent for the Pens to have a chance in this series. If he has a gaa of 3, then they're going to be in trouble. Then again, he won't be facing Ovechkin so thats a big plus.

Ward gave up 4 goals in each of the game 1's this year. The Pens need to jump on him early before he gets in a groove.

It should be another great series.

Fleury's gata be the man for the Pens to step his game up the most. We have the better forwards, and defense. However they have that great equalizer in Ward. If Fleury can atleast stop the pucks that should be stopped then we'll be ok.

I think the Pens will win it but as far as in what game? I have no idea. Could be a sweep but could go 7, but Carolina is a poor man's Pittsburgh so we'll see who can play thier style better.

Carolina likes to come with speed and Pittsburgh likes to control puck possession. All the matter of who goes out of Character and play's the other teams style. IMO, Jordan Staal is going to come through big time for the pens in this series.

Couldn't have started any better. Fleury made some great saves, Satan had a pretty awesome deke/fake on a breakaway that made it 1-0, Malkin had a stupidly good backhander to put it under Ward's right arm to make it 2-0. :banger:

Pittsburgh doesn't have the better defense. At best it's even although I agree you have the better forwards overall probably.

The difference between the teams isn't that great.

And Flower saved your butts last night. Your defense played flat all night long but Flower was there just about every time.

I'm thinking Pens in 6 or 7 though.

The way the teams played last night, defense isn't going to matter as much as it should.. Great goaltending and the ability to finish is. The defense was pretty bad on both sides last night.

Carolina looked really good on the PK at times. Those first to kills were pretty ridiculous.

Gill has been bad all postseason. The Scuderi half of the tandem has been great, but the Gill side has resulted in multiple goals, and many more chances. At least Goligoski could provide more offensive threat and puck control.
