Eastern Conf Final: Penguins-Hurricanes

That shot was sweet.

Props to Satan for actually throwing some punches. Pussy that he is, he earned some points with the fans on that fight. Of course, after throwing the punches, he pulled up the guys shirt and held on for dear life.

Well, we have Hal Gill. So our odds are near 0% against a team like Detroit.

:p

I was much happier last year. This year.. I guess I expected it? I don't know. I'm pumped, but it means nothing if they don't win the Cup.

Can't win the Cup if you don't reach the final so I'm excited about it.

I'm not sure why you were expecting it, though. The Pens were 10th in the conference when they made the coaching change in mid-February. They entered the playoffs as a 4-seed, and had to win a game seven on the road versus Washington. Last year, they were a 2-seed, won their division, and only lost two playoff games en route to the finals. In short, it was a much easier ride last year to get to this point.

Hopefully, they're ready to take the next step. :)

Yeah, I don't know why I was, either, hence the question mark. Maybe it was the fact that I thought we matched up well against most teams, or the fact that we were playing so well. Maybe it's just the "we did this last year and lost" thing. I don't know. I'm definitely excited, don't get me wrong. I think we have some major question marks.. defensively we lack some consistency and MAF has been pretty average at times.

The offense couldn't be peaking at a better time.. I'm curious to see how we play in what looks like a rematch between what I think is a lesser version of last year's Wings (although still a great team, best in the NHL IMO) and a Pens team that brings a lot more physicality and defense with their forwards.

Ugh the Stanley Cup finals schedule both plans are a joke. If the Redwings win tomorrow. They want to move it up to Sat and play a freaking back to back. If not they want to keep it at June 5th and play 2 back to backs in the series. I'm sorry but Bettman needs to grow a spine and do what is best for the players not for the networks which means 4 or 5 days in between series and no back to backs.

Very nice series.

What was Tie Domi doing in the box with Lemieux?

When the Playoffs started, I did NOT expect this. Most experts picked against the Pens in the first 3 series which should also be the same when they play the Wings.

I'm encouraged by the fact that the Pens are getting contributions from
others besides Sid and Geno. Alot of people were ready to throw Guerin off
the bus but has responded well playing perhaps his best playoff hockey in years.

If they want to have any chance at all against the Wings, then MAF has to play unlike he ever has for the whole series. That team is so damn good and loaded. Some of their top players are off their games and they're still kicking ass.

It will be tough to win the Cup. I'll just have to see how they play in game 1.

Go Pens.
