Early Verbal To Hold Your Spot

That's fine. I respect your position. However, since you wish to bring up the age issue.

What about the rest of the "17 year old kids" that have stuck with their VERBAL commitments and have stated they would remain Buckeyes regardless? Loyalty is something these kids have shown and as I stated I would hope kids like Pittman,Strobel and others honor their respective verbal commitments.

There are other kids that have not committed to anyone and they are fair game. Kids that honor their commitments show great character which is a quality I would want in my student-athletes.

I think you're out of line for talkin about KIDS, like they don't have character when sometimes they're being pulled in multiple directions, and making a decision that can weigh heavily on their whole lives! Can you blame KK for jumping ship when a school he really wanted to go to is suddenly under sanctions for things he didn't do, and all of the sudden it could also affect his future? There were also kids that decommitted from USC when they heard of their sanctions, are they of less character as well? Using your definition, does Ricquan Southward now lack character?

If you worked for a company that all of the sudden was in financial trouble, would you have less character for leaving said company? At the end of the day, these are kids making adult decisions, I'm sorry but you're crazy if you wouldn't welcome any of these kids to the S&G if they changed their minds and commited to tOSU. If KK all of the sudden left scUM and rejoined the good guys and was our elite LT for the rest of Miller's career, you can't tell me your ass wouldn't be rooting for him like the rest of us on Saturdays. Let's get some perspective here, I dont blame any of these kids for their decisions, and there is still a lot of time until signing day as well.

Dodson and Pittman are the only ones I think we can get. I really dont want Kalis back.

Emotions can be a poor substitute for logic.

As I said earlier, you're talking about 17 year kids making life decisions. Given all the turmoil swirling around tOSU the past year I don't blame any of them for verbaling elsewhere, no matter my personal affinity for my alma mater.

If any of them - including the UM verbals - reconsider and want to be Buckeyes I am more than happy to welcome them to Columbus. :osu:

I think it's the things Kalis said which bother people. Also, the fact he's openly tried to get other OSU commits to switch over.

Urban has two main goals over the next two months.

Recruiting the best players he can possibly get

- Still lots of time and lots of very good players out there

Hiring the best staff he can possible acquire

- He said he has been amazed at the number of high quality coaches who
have contacted him wanting to be on his coaching staff.

He will do both of these things with a tireless abandoned and we will all be happy with the end result. Lets let him do his magic on the recruiting trail and lets let him put together his amazing staff. He knows what he's doing, and he will do it well!!!

Here's to Urban Renewal!!!!

It's along the line of discussion pnuts. I'm comparing KIDS that made a verbal commitment, have maintained that commitment and not waivered.

To answer your first question, YES, I can blame KK. Apparently he didn't want to go to OSU that badly that he decides to head north to play for scUM. Of all schools, why Michigan?? Not knocking Michigan as a quality school or program but I feel you know where this is headed.

Two, I'm not talking about USC. Give less than a damn about em.

Three, considering the Southward decomit from The U. It is an issue when you don't honor a commitment. I can add some scenarios such as IF Urban was still at UF, would he have gone to Florida instead? But its moot. If you are not sure where you wish to go, wait.

As far as the company I work for goes...very poor comparison. If the means of me to provide for my family was in jeopardy, absolutely I would find a new job. APPLES

As far as choosing the best fit for me as a student-athlete, OSU or Michigan? Both offer the best a university can offer. IF OSU is hit with further penalties, I may not be able to go to a upper tear bowl game for one maybe two years BUT the level of comp is comparable, the quality of coaching is excellent (Bollman not withstanding), super education, and the NFL will still look at me because I play for OHIO STATE. ORANGES.

And yes my friend..I am crazy as a loon.

I love the Buckeyes. Have since I was a kid. I do not cheer for any single player. I cheer for the team and I think that is where you and some of these young people lose your perspective.

You cheer for the Buckeyes. You love the Buckeyes. It doesn't matter who is playing for them. It doesn't matter who is coaching them. If the Buckeyes offered me a ship way back when, I would not have hestitated to accept (pipe dream but the analogy is fitting). No team or coach could sway me. That is why I understood Tressel's approach. Take your visits and make sure this is the best place for you. He wanted Buckeyes!

Therefore, IF KK changed his mind, came back to the good guys, I would continue to root for the Buckeyes because I'm a Buckeye fan. However, I would not change my opinion about how he handled his recruitment. PERIOD.

And as I stated at the end of my previous post. FIFTEEN (excluding Southward) other kids did not have a problem honoring their commitment and coaches still called them. Why should it be any different for KK if TOSU was the school "he really wanted to go to"? Just saying.

I am sure that bothered a lot of people. But not so much they wouldn't get over it after one good block in S&G.

Even the one who saw the competition he would have at OSU for PT is much stiffer than the competition at scUM?

I think my position on this issue has been stated clearly more than once in this thread. Please read it again.

Without naming anyone in particular, if room was made in a current position of depth to bring in a couple OTs, I'd be ok with it.

I'm sure that the staff will be looking for my post on this matter and wanted to be clear.

We'll be fine no matter what... And we'll be better with Buckeyes.
