If I were an NCAA athlete, I'd be [censored]ing honored to be playing with myself in a video game. I'd view that as a perk of being a college football player.

Oh hey look, that's me on the video game. That's not awesome at all, I want my money.

You're a little young for 'Leisure Suit Larry in the Land of the Lounge Lizards', aren't you?

Take away the profit for the institutions and you take away their incentive to keep providing the infrastructure for the games to be played. Plus, it's not realistic to think that a merit-based pay scale would work out as well for the 85th scholarship player as a team's stars. Not a heck of a lot of these players are expecting to get more than a (possibly-expensive and more profitable than athletics) education out of the deal either, so for the majority the current system--which can finance hundreds of athletes and athletic staffers at so many schools--is working out as much on an individual level as an institutional one.

i recall mentioning that . but i certainly can't fault a kid who see's his school making 10's of millions in bowl appearances and countless thousands in clothing sales wondering where their cut is. i don't agree with it, personally i think the free education is a pretty good deal. but i understand it. keep in mind i don't understand where the money for this game goes as far as the ncaa is concerned. if the money for this game is going to the schools themselves and is being spent on other students and faculty. i personally would be fine with that. but if some ncaa suit is pocketing it... id be pretty [censored]y as well.

whether i would be honored or not would be directly related to how accurately they depicted me in the game. if they were able to properly encapsulate my sub 3 second 40, 900lb bench press and 12 foot dick then yeah were cool... anything less though. thats flat out insulting and im gonna demand reparations!

Agree.

By the way, you and I are shockingly similar...

personally i think more than a few of you are more concerned your favorite game is in danger than if he has a legit case.

dont you find it just a bit funny though?

why didnt he say something 2 or 3 years ago? its just funny to me how he goes out and fails to make it in pro football, ends up working as a bartended THEN tries to file a suilt to fill his own pockets

A high school friend of mine was on the game a few years back. He had the school record for 100m (10.7),and was well represented on the game with speed of 68 (fb position, smaller d1 school)..He wasn't all that happy about playing with himself.

Obviously,he's trying to turn a quick coin and cash out. Although it may have merit,it's quite apparent what's really going on.

I can see that being disappointing, but I'd still be more excited than upset. I definitely wouldn't be upset to the point that I'd want to sue. It would just be cool.

Yea,it was just humourous. Then again,if Ea made all players speed legit (small schools do have fast players, just not as skilled in most cases),then the game would be a lot different, considering speed is already too big of a factor.

you're talking about actual programming of physics & ability, something EA has shown no interest in doing. They even refuse to copy their existing code from madden.

Then your small players might be fast, but they'd get smashed when colliding with Katzenmoyer, and would wear down a lot faster. Coding like that would allow folks to use power backs, which would hold up (maybe even get stronger) after 20 carries, unlike McGuffie.

if EA did that, every SEC school would have offensive linemen who are faster than big 10 (and every other conferences) HBs and WRs :2004:
