Dwight Howard (NTTAWWT)

I would have absolutely no problem with him leaving Orlando. He's not a hometown kid, he didn't go around promising to bring a title to his home city, he (so far) hasn't hamstrung the team in terms of making moves because they're not sure if he's gonna be around long term, and he hasn't laid cryptic remarks talking about his "future" decision that he's gonna have to make.

Lebron had a once in the history of the league opportunity at the time he was drafted...to take a titleless town, which he grew up in the shadows of, to its first professional sports title in years. For me, its more dissapointing than anything else that that storyline didn't get to play out to its fruition. It would have been one of the greatest stories in sports history. IMO he can win multiple titles with Miami and it won't match the craziness that would've ensued had he brought a title to the hometown team.

Well, that is why we are all talking about other things

franchise tag is an interesting concept.

Yes, interesting concept. The ONLY issue I see is players circumventing the franchise tag by just playing like shit. What? You franchise tagged me? How DARE you! Fine... I'll just not hustle and cause so many problems that it would be better to trade me.

Of course if the owners then treated him like a pariah... but that would never happen (see Vince Carter)

Bah the Franchise tag they are talking about for the NBA is some little shitty one... Both Team & Player have to agree... screw that... burn the league down.

That's certainly debatable. I have found it nearly unwatchable for 2-3 years now because of all the posturing, posing, and nonstop bitching at officials. It's a glorified rap video at this point, IMO. Give me Jordan, Bird, Magic, Barkley, Olajuwon, etc. over these crybabies. That's not to say the old timers didn't do their fair share of wining, but it's absurd now. Every time down the court somebody's crying about either getting called, or a no call.

The off court/front office crap is only half of that shit league's issue.

Eh, I'd say it's more of a lack of fundamentals. The crybaby shit was invented, implemented, and perfected by Bird, Magic, Jordan, Lambier, Miller, Ewing, etc. Jordan didn't have to cry because he got every fucking call ever.
You'll have to explain this one to me.

I don't watch much BET, MTV, Fuse or wherever videos are played these days, but I don't remember too many refs, shorts, scoreboards, fouls, or even bitching in the videos I watch(ed)
Better analogy. the NBA is closer to the WWE than anything else.

It's about posturing, posing and every once in a while performing. Hell even with the amount of interview time these guys get anymore, it really is almost pro/fake wrestling.
