Even Tressel wouldve made the switch by now. Tressel was trying to pick between an All Big Ten QB and a freshman who just came into fall camp.

Fickell was picking between someone who had never started and a kid that's been here since Spring.

I really hate to say it, and maybe the majority of people here will disagree with me, but it really does not appear as if Luke is ready to be the head coach. Some of you may say it's way too early to say that, but after what I just witnessed there is no way you stick with Bauserman at quarterback for as long as he did tonight. I understand that Miller didn't look too great when he was in but he CLEARLY gave us the best chance tonight. Then the clock management at the end of the game (even though I don't think we had any chance in hell at a 2 touchdown comeback with 2+ minutes left, you still have to try if you're the head coach) was very, very poor.

After tonight, I'm not sure if the days of the "trust the coaches" mantra still stands.

I "trust the coaches" to the extent they have a track record upon which to base such trust.

I agree on all counts, mostly with the timeouts situation at the end. We don't know if he "gave up" or if he just wasn't paying attention or didn't know what to do in the situation, but either way it's bad. If he did give up as a coach, what do you think your players are going to do? Have to fight until the last bitter second.

At least you gain yardage with Braxton in the game. Perhaps he wouldn't have been so turnover prone had he gained some more game experience throughout the season before giving him his most against Miami on the road.

But to answer more directly, when both guys are sucking, you play the one who is going to be The Man for the next 3 seasons to get him some work. You don't play a guy with no particular skill that has proven he can't win you a game, and a guy that is gone after this season.

I don't blame Fickell for the loss tonight; the talent just isn't there. Ultimately he gave both QBs a pretty good chance, and neither of them particularly impressed. Maybe it's just that I, unlike most people it seems, don't think it's obvious that we need to drop Bauserman for Miller. Bauserman is at the very least a steady hand who won't turn the ball over, and tonight he was the victim of a lot of drops, not that he threw the ball that well. Miller doesn't appear comfortable with our playbook or in the pocket, and turned the ball over twice tonight, which you have to expect from a true freshman QB. Seems like a lose-lose for Fickell, he'll be blamed and second-guessed no matter what. I sure as hell don't envy him.

I agree with playing Miller but either way we weren't winning this game

Winner winner chicken dinner. This is going to be a year with some groing pains. Breaking in a new head coach, QB and a ton of players.

Either way, ya know what... a few beers and a Buckeye game is still one hell of a lot better than being at work. There were a lot of good things out there tonight, all those good things are just VERY young. It's gonna take time... we'll be fine... the team will be fine.

Perhaps play the qb who had an interception on a tipped pass and a fumble on a play near the end of the game where he was just trying to make a play. I'm not sure I stick with the qb who maybe had one good throw all night and whose best play was literally a play action rollout and then throw it away.
