Pitt will not use a search firm to help identify candidates as it begins the hunt for a football coach to replace Todd Graham, and that is a sign the university already has a short list of candidates.

Sources very close to Luke Fickell say he hasn't been responsive when asked about #Pitt rumors as of yet. Could be fire with the smoke

I'll support Fickell wherever his career takes him, but I just think this would not be the right move.
Buckrock;2065352; said:It all depends on what his goals are. Does he want to be a HC? Is he content living in his hometown as a career Assitant at his Alma Mater. If he aspires to be a HC the Pitt job is way ahead of a MAC like opportunity. The time to move is now if offered the job IMHO.

"To me there is no other place for me to go in college football and that's the way I feel about Ohio State," Fickell said while appearing on the Gator Bowl teleconference Sunday evening.
