Duke Blue Devils (that rat faced scumbag)

thats fair, i went to FSU.....i also stated its easy to say im biased......even though i went to FSU it doesn't change the way the game was called against FSU or BC....all you have to do is get a copy of either game and watch....again nothing glaringly obvious will jump out at you except the final foul statistics....again ticky tack calls on the offensive end put duke on the free throw line, while ticky tack stuff when the play d, is just good aggressive play by duke.....the statistics of points in paint in the paint for FSU and the outside shooting of Duke is really telling imo.....and again i firmly stand by statemnt, if shelden williams had been an FSU player he would of fouled out, no doubt, and if al thornton were wearing a duke jersey he would of gone to free thrown line more than 3 times with all the time he spent in the paint

There's no way you can say any of that "objectively"... This isn't going to be solved. Fans will always think Duke gets calls. Duke is always going to be good (at least as long as Coach K. is there). So there are always going to be haters.
Let me ask some of you this... Do any of you think Mike Holmgren sounds foolish complaining about the officials in the Super Bowl?

Yes I watched it... Aside from the bogus technical call, I though the officiating was so-so, but definitely nothing to be considered homerish. There are plenty of schools that shoot more free-throws than the other school does. The other day UNC shot 29 to only 9 for Clemson. It happens a lot... Get over it.

UNC had control of that game from opening tipoff and held a 10 point lead for pretty much the whole game besides the last 3 minutes when clemson started fouling them.

Holgren has a legitimate beef, as did Pittsburgh against Indy, as did Gruden against Washington....horrible calls are always made, the thing in those situations though, is it was just awful officiating, there wasn't "respect" being brought into it. Michael Jordan got all the calls because he was the best player in the league, well Duke players get all the calls because of the jersey they wear........"nearly every time Thornton took a shot around the basket, there was *some* contact. Maybe not enough to merit a foul on every shot, but certainly the equivalent of what Redick and Williams faced on the other end of the floor. Either you reward aggressive play on both ends of the floor or you don't. But you can't do it on one end and not the other." officials haven't been calling it the same on either end for a long time when it comes to duke......let me also add this is mainly in the acc, i think one of the reasons duke doesn't win it all more frequently is b/c they don't get the same calls come tourney time as they do in the ACC......I don't think it's coincidental they got neutral officials at Georgetown and lost the game...there was a lot of banging in the paint that never would of been let go by an ACC crew......it's why teams like Michigan State give Duke problems in the NCAA Tourney b/c officials don't bail them out

So Duke is just an average team in actuality, but is a good team because they get all of the calls? Please...
BTW... Redick was getting held against MSU all day... YOU go to the tape and review that one...

No, thats not what i was aying at all.....Michael Jordan wasn't an average player who was great b/c he got all the calls...he got all the calls b/c officilas respected him too much...its the same with duke, theyve been great for so long that officials give them respect calls....shelden gets touched inside and its a foul, jj gets bumped a little its a foul....unfortunately that stuff doesn't go the other way.....al thornton took it to the rack all day and saw 3 free-throws....there were plenty of times fouls could have been called, but weren't..whats done is done, but you can't objectively say the officiating was fair anymore than i can say it wasn't.....i think the statisics prove themselves...43-11 is incredibly imbalaced, and fsu DOMINATED the paint....it was not called the same on each end, and the officials have been suspended for it

Wow... I feel right at home with all the Duke hating!!! I am a UK Wildcat fan, so naturally Duke is the enemy. Absolutely ADORE Duke's coach, HATE the team. Don't know how to explain that one. I'll give credit to JJ because I feel he deserves it, but I cringe everytime he hits that trey.
Duke will do well in the tournament, I'm sure of that.... but will anxiously await their defeat.

OH AND PS--One of the main reasons I hate Duke is Dicky V. Dick Vitale slobs on Dukes knob & YOU ALL KNOW IT!

that might be the dumbest thing that i have ever read....

thats like mack being bad for football because the asked the voters to look hard at texas.

he is doing what he thinks needs to be done to help his team. is it his fault that it works?

i will say that the fsu game was a joke

unbiased people have come out of the woodwork in protest of the FSU game and the superbowl. Complaints afterwards do look foolish, tho they may not be offbase in what they are claiming. Duke does seem to get a little bit of favoritism. Coach K surely works the refs, but so does Izzo, Matta and the rest of the good coaches in america.

That article was something else. You can see where I stand about Duke when reading my posts, but that thing was exactly what I've come to expect from internet journalism (sigh). He looked to make a big splash, but I wonder if anyone will take that article seriously.
