akron can be rough, but it isn't that bad either. people get fucked up all over the world. this one was just caught on film.

worst beat down i ever saw still was a one punch ass whipping. i was about 6 or 7 and walking home from school. i was about a block from school and this one dude just drilled this other dude in the nose (they were probably 11 or 12 so i guess they weren't fully dudes yet). his nose broke like nothing and blood came gushing out of his face. i still remember walking over that shit to get home. it was about as gross as the time that the hockey guy took a skate to the jugular and spilled tons of blood on the ice.

Does anyone believe this beating is a prime example of why every state should have carry and conceal permits for hand guns. No way this goes down in Tennessee.

I would not have shot the guy but a good crack on the back of the head with the but of my glock would have put him down. It just makes me sick to see things like this.

Seven guys standing around while another guy gets the beating of his life. Just sick.

The white dude by the door looked plenty big enough to step in and at least tackle that big bastard. I bet if this shit happened any where with that many people around all it would of took was one person taking initiative and announcing they needed help to stop that fuckin retard. That is why there should be reproduction laws. That's probably the same big goof dick we all knew in school that just sort of disappeared after high school and we read about them in the local paper some years later for one crime or another. The guy gettin his ass beat should of maybe made a plea for help. Looks like everyone just stood around speechless including him. I know he was dazed, but shit, either lay down and play possum, run, or yell for help. Anyways, the aggressor didn't have a gun exposed, and there were plenty of people to stop that beating.

Interesting timing on this. Not that it was anything of this magnitude, but it just so happens I broke up a brawl during a Pat Metheny concert last night (boy, that sounds weird). At one point during the music while everyone was standing, the guy beside me and three guys behind me got into a fight. At first they were just cussing each other out, and I didn't think they were serious, just annoying. Then, the guy next to me pushes one of the other guys into the next row, and a bunch of shoving ensues. I was pushed a bit and narrowly missed an elbow to the face.

Now, I'm not particularly intimidating, but nobody messes with Deety's concert experience. Luckily I didn't have to beat anyone up (:p), but I did stand up, put on my death glare and demon voice, and tell them to SIT DOWN AND SHUT UP. The one guy left, and I stared down the other ones until they not only sat down but fell silent. It was actually quite fun.

Wow... when I took my concealed carry course, one of the things they really stressed is that when you are carrying you should be doubly careful to stay out of fights... and if you are in mortal danger (or believe someone else to be) and have to pull a gun, it had damn well better be to use it, not wave it around like a club.

I definitely agree that if people know there's a good chance people around them are carrying, they'll behave better. My UT license is valid, so even with the stupid WI laws, I make a point of flashing that permit whenever I'm asked for ID (plus, the picture is better :p). Just a little advocacy...

If it was okay to carry a conealed weapon than the kid that got his ass whooped may of well ended up being dead. Who's to say that the big fucking monkey wouldn't have had one and came in pointing at the guy? he was obviously mentally unstable.

I'm 6'1" and about 170-175 lbs. I'd have gotten the crap kicked out of me if I'd have tried to step in on that. If I were there, I'd have rung the cops and tried to remember as much about the man's description as I could've (not knowing if it was being video taped). If I had a few friends there I would've tried to talk everyone into ganging up on him, but if that guy has buddies (especially if any of them are packing) it is still a dangerous situation.

I think it is a lot to expect of a couple guys who don't know each other to join forces against a guy that big when a random fight breaks out that quick. If you look at the length of the video, it's not like the fight went on 5 minutes. He got beat for 30 seconds to a minute and then it was over (unless there is more to the video than I saw).

All I know is that I sure can't say I'd jump in there because I probably wouldn't. For me to expect other people to do something I can't say I would do in that moment, is unfair.

ALSO...

I wonder how many unarmed confrontations get better when someone is carrying a gun? Probably about 0-1%. The reason is because the two primal emotions that surface in these situations are anger and fear which both lead to adrenaline rushes and lack of forethought. Once a gun is thrown into the mix, someone's going to get killed. We have so much gun control because people are idiots and can't be trusted to even wipe themselves correctly after they crap, let alone carry a firearm.

Well said on the 0-1% thing Oiler.

I can't guarantee that I would have done anything being about the same size as Oiler, but I would like to think I would have at least kicked big boy in the sac and taken off. If I'm half the size of someone and they want to put me into a concussion, I am not too proud to run....lol. I can guarantee however that he wouldn't be able to catch me. If I am one thing, it's fast and I think the chance to blast that guy in the twins for being such an idiot would be priceless....especially on video.

Deety: I am with you I have taken the course also. My point is that in this paticular situation I do not want to shoot the guy but I do want to stop the assalt. I have seen plenty of situations where a "60 second" beating can seriously if not permannetly injusre someone.

I guess my question is where do you draw the line?

To those of you who spoke about gun laws and how concealment in this case was a bad decision because the big dude could have also been carrying a gun..Do you honestly think that guy really values law. If he wants a gun he is going to get one. Also he can not come to TN and get a carrying permitt because he is now a felon.
