Duane Long (Blog Discussion)

Duane leaving keeps coming up so where there is smoke you will usually find fire and the lack of a response at Bucknuts is deafening.

I will believe Duane is with Bucknuts this time next week when I see it.

Sad that it could be an economic decision...layoffs and reductions in force are rampant right now. :(

I have followed Duane from the days he put out a paper newsletter that even then put Kurelic to shame. Glad to see he is on his own once again.

Now I can drop my subscription to Ohio High (surely someone will keep me up to speed on girl's Badminton in the state).

(I don't want this to come off as bashing, so please delete if need be....)

I don't know if anybody has been reading Duane's blog, but I've been reading for a few weeks and I don't recall him saying nearly anything positive about the program, coaches, or recruiting especially. To read what he's saying, you'd think JT has OSU winning games at ND's pace.

I like Duane a lot, but he does come off as a bit of a "Negative Nancy."

Tops in Ohio Regardless of Class

According to Duane Long

1. Braxton Miller 6-2 185 QB Huber Heights Wayne (2011)
The best quarterback prospect from Ohio in my lifetime.
2. Steve Miller 6-5 220 DE Canton McKinley (2011)
Better than Ben Martin at the same stage of development. The best news is the
Buckeyes will be hard to beat.
3. Jordan Hicks 6-3 220 LB Lakota West
The most complete linebacker prospect I have ever seen in Ohio.
4. Andrew Norwell 6-8 300 RT Cincinnati Anderson
....

Miller reminds me a lot of Antonio Henton's scrambling style, and the film that I watched on Henton was from his senior year, with a UGA-bound WR catching his passes. He's definitely a great fit in OSU's system. That said, I would have Hicks, Turner and a few other Senior-to-be's ahead of him.
