Idk if he'll jump that high. And I persoanally don't want him to. Let him stay underrated and surprise everyone in the big 10 in a few years

Wow, what a difference between his JR and SR film. Underrated, sure... but I think I'd say most improved. Easy to see now what the coaches apparently saw in Tracey. Kid gets after it. Looks like he can't be stopped by one O-Linemen at the HS level. Tracey is really good at shedding blocks and making the play. I think he's going to fit it really well with the guys we have committed.

Definitely.

His top end speed isn't remarkable, but he has a quick first step and seems to be a sure tackler. He also has a nice, tight spin move. I'm interested in seeing how big he gets after a couple years on campus.

He plays with that aggressive chip on his shoulder attitude that the coaches are waiting to see from Adolphus. He may have less elite talent than Adolphus but he's tailor made for that that tweener DE/DT position. College strength training, I feel, is going to make him great. He already plays with leverage which is very hard to teach.

Future DT all the way imo. Uses his hands well to get off blocks, pretty good leverage. array of moves, very strong, wraps up really well, and decent athleticism. Not the kind of first step you need as a DE at the next level but will work at DT. No real "wow" factor but he flat out produces.

Overall, I see a fundamentally sound, strong player who is very tough to move and is always in the right place.

The Pioneers didn?t make it to the postseason this year, but the pain that Monday?s award eased for Sprinkle was a little more literal.

?I?ve been home sick ? I had to go to the ER today,? Sprinkle said. ?So this is a great feeling, I feel blessed and I give all the honor to God. We worked hard in the offseason and I was able to meet all of my goals this year.?

Sprinkle, who will play for Ohio State next year, finished with 103 tackles ? 11 for a loss ? and a state-leading 19 sacks.

?Last year I was all-district and only finished on the third team in Ohio,? Sprinkle said. ?I made it a goal to represent myself and my team better. We had a really tough loss to Mayfield to end the season ? it was a bitter pill to swallow ? and maybe this will let people know that we were better than that.?

ELYRIA ? It?s been a rollercoaster year for Elyria High?s Tracy Sprinkle.

The defensive end mourned the death of his brother, Jamelro Hicks, last December, was offered a football scholarship by Ohio State a few months later and then put together a stellar senior-season performance for the Pioneers, who let a postseason berth slip through their fingers with a Week 10 loss to Mayfield.

The ride hit another high Thursday night when Sprinkle was named the winner of the 2012 Lorain County Golden Helmet Award, given annually to the top senior football player in the county.

The award has been presented since 1965, and Sprinkle is the seventh Elyria player to win it and first since running back P.J. Mahone in 2005.

?I?m feeling pretty excited,? said Sprinkle. ?This is a pretty exciting thing. I give all the honor to God. I?m so happy about it.

?It was one of my major goals, but I didn?t know I could actually reach it. I know P.J. Mahone was the last one from Elyria to win it, and he had a great season that year. I knew I?d have to have a great season to end up doing it.?

Sprinkle was simply dominant for the Pioneers this season. His 103 tackles were second only to linebacker Connor Kamczyc?s 161. He averaged 17 tackles a game, and his 19 sacks led Lorain County. He forced two fumbles, recovered one, had three pass defenses and scored a defensive touchdown this season.

?This whole journey has been amazing, with all the players and all the coaches and all the fans, everybody,? Sprinkle said. ?It?s going to be a wonderful thing going to Ohio State and playing for them. I know going to Ohio State, I?ve got a lot of big things that I?ve got to do to represent this city. I think it should be a great opportunity for me.
